First sentence

Emmersyn got tubes in a little of 2 weeks ago and today she said her first sentence! Everyday we go get Teagan at preschool and every time we pull in I go "Teagan, where are you?". Today, Emmy goes "gigi (what Teagan sounds like when she says it) are you?". I was so excited!
I can not believe the progress she has made in such a short time. And I can't believe the doctor was so hesitant about getting them done. I'm glad I listened to my gut and got a second opinion!

Emmersyn surgery

Emmersyn had her second surgery on Wed November 27, 2013 which was also Brennen's birthday.
She has been going to an audiologist and ENT since October. They have determined she has no vibrations to her eardrums because of fluid in her ears and suggested going in draining the fluid out, and placing tubes in her ears. Not a huge surgery, but they had to put her to sleep to do it and I was nervous.  She did great though. The procedure itself took about 15 minutes if that. The doctor was fantastic! He said her left ear would probably continue to drain for a few days because it had a TON of fluid in there. So far, she has taken everything in stride and hasn't had any issues! I am amazed everyday at her. She is definitely my brave girl. 2 surgeries and 2 car wrecks in less than a year for her and she acts like nothing has happened!

Brennen Michael is 1

I can't believe Brennen is already 1. Where has the year gone?!?! We have had many ups and downs this past year, but I can't imagine life or my family without Brennen in it! He is such a happy baby and LOVES his momma (which I love). Don't get me wrong, I like my kids to be independent, but at the end of the day if they want to snuggle up with me, I'll take it!

A few days before his birthday, he woke up from a nap collapsing. I thought perhaps his brain tumors were back and I freaked out. I had my mom come from work to look at him. Every time I sat him down, he would fall back. When he attempted to crawl, he would fall forward. I took him to the doctor right away. They said he had a severe ear infection in his left ear and put him on heavy duty antibiotics. He is still slightly fussier than normal, but doing well, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

On his actual birthday (the day before Thanksgiving), Emmersyn had surgery to put tubes in her ears and drain fluid out. Emmerysn and I were home about the time he woke up and I doubt he cared!

At 1 stats:
you weigh 26lbs 8oz.  I will get your height tomorrow at the doctor, but I'm thinking you're a tall boy
you wear a size 4 diaper
you wear size 12 or 12-18mn clothes and jammies. Pants are usually 12 and onsies are 18mn
you LOVE food and eat about anything
you still take 2 naps a day and sleep about 1.5-2hrs per nap
you go to bed at 8-8:30 at night and sleep til 7 usually (still wake up once or twice though)
you are walking a few steps at a time
you HATE to wear shoes and socks and undresss in the car
you had so much hair we've cut and trimmed it a ton and it's still super thick
you LOVE your sisters and light up when they talk to you
you have 3 teeth in and one popping through

Brennen Michael: You have surprised mommy from the start and continue to surprise me everyday. I love you!

Many firsts...

Brennen has his first ear infection. All the kids have been snotty nosed and had coughs, but I chalked it up to allergies and season changes. However, yesterday when I put the babies down for their afternoon naps, Brennen screamed like someone was stabbing him to death. Since I knew that wasn't happening, I went to check and he was pulling on his ear and screaming. I knew something was off since he's usually my mellow baby. I called his doctor, but they couldn't get him in til 8pm and that's bedtime for everyone and I work so I headed to urgent care instead. Sure enough his ears were "cooking" and he is now on antibiotics. Fun times taking 3 kids who haven't napped to the dr.

Teagan is loving school. She loves being with her friends and playing. We are usually one of the last to leave as Teagan likes to play after with her friends. Today was picture day. I'm hoping all her pictures turn out as good as last year.  She is doing extremely well with her letter recognition now. This is something we worked on all summer and I didn't think she would ever get it and it began to frustrate me. Now, she is able to recognize about 22 of the 26 letters and can even write her name without the highlighter the teacher usually uses. I am so proud of my girl!

Emmersyn and Brennen will both be evaluated to start speech therapy soon. While I hate that something may be "wrong" with my kids, I would rather try to "fix" it now than wait til they're in school and struggling. First up, hearing tests. I don't think they have any issue with this, but it's one of the hoops you have to jump through. Then, they will get evaluated from the therapists to see if they qualify. I'm more worried about Emmersyn, but the doctor was more concerned with Brennen so we're sending both. I may go insane doing hearing tests with babies, but oh well....

First tooth times 2

Brennen has been a fussy boy lately and drooling like a wet dog so I knew a tooth would be popping through soon! Sunday evening that tooth FINALLY popped through and it brought a friend! That's right, my little guy has TWO bottom teeth poking up. Poor guy! No wonder he was a fuss bucket. My sweet boy is back now though and will be enjoying a bit more solid food now!

Out of whack

Lately I've been out of touch with a lot of my regular friends. I feel like I've been working nonstop (6 days every week for over a month), being sick, and been so busy with my kids, the house, and with my moms house while she was in Ft Wayne for a month with my grandma. I'm trying to find a balance, but I just seem to make people upset when I can't go places. I would LOVE to go out and have some fun, but trying to fit everything in is overwhelming sometimes!
Saturday after work, we went out to dinner (all 5 Murray's) and to get new carseats for Brennen. We did get a few other things as well, so while I tried to install carseat #3 in both cars, Teagan blew bubbles out in the driveway. I'm thinking we will be a van family soon as the seats BARELY fit in my car. I feel like the doors will pop off soon! HA.
Sunday after work, I headed to my moms with the girls. Matt and Brennen stayed home to watch some football. I let the girls play with mom while I weedwhacked, trimmed up the front bushes, and did some other outside chores. I needed to get the back yard done as well, but it was almost bed time and I must have made all the bugs mad because I got eaten alive! I also managed to spill a 5 gallon bucket of water all over her house so any good I did was negated with that I'm sure!
Brennen got sick over night so I woke up to a pile of laundry to do and no water pressure to wash them. Darn water main broke so I'm not sure how long I'll be without, but I'm taking a load to my moms to get the crib sheets and blankets all washed before I get Teagan from school....just a day in my life anymore!

First "pick me up" call

Today is a big day! Brennen was scheduled to get his stitches out at 10:30 this morning. When I got the kids up for school, I could only see one stitch just dangling there like I could have been able to pluck it out with tweezers (which I didn't do).
Anyways, I dropped Teagan off at school at 8 like normal. She was slightly more whiney this morning, but I chalked it up to me having to wake her up. Usually, if she's up on her own she is fine, but if I have to go in and wake her she likes to say "5 more minutes" or "it's still night time" as she rolls back over. HA. Totally my kid there with hating mornings.
Anyways, I no sooner got back home, unloaded babies, fed them, and put them in their beds for a morning nap and school calls to come back and get her. Seems she had a belly ache and was crying. She had a very loose bowel movement and is not one that does that anywhere but at home with us so I'm thinking she was just embarrassed because as soon as I picked her up, she asked if we could go to the park and play. Instead, we all went to the doctor who spent about 1.3 SECONDS with Brennen and just rubbed the stitch away. Really???? I am paying for that??? Next time I'll know to do it myself! HA
I really think it's funny that school called today. Yes, I am very happy they did. I would rather be safe than sorry about any of my kids, but last year she fell from over 4 feet and bit through her lip and I didn't get called and she would have needed stitches! Oh well, again, I would rather be safe!

Brennen gets stitched

My sweet boy is trying to walk so hard. He is pulling up all over the place and this morning while I was getting the girls ready for school, he tried to pull up on the kitchen chair and slipped. His poor head hit the chair. I had thought he hit his nose (which was already cut from a tumble off the bed), but nope. He had a gash above his eye. I knew he needed stitches. Luckily, it is Friday so Teagan had school. I dropped her off at school after putting another batman bandage on his eye and took Emmersyn to my moms and headed to the ER (I waited til 8 to call my doctor and was informed they don't stitch).
Sure enough, he got FIVE stitches. Can't believe my sweet 9 month old is already getting big enough for stitches. And...he beat Emmersyn who was 10 months when she got her first set of stitches.

Before the stitches. Even busted up, he was a happy boy! Poor boy is just a walking ad for Band-Aid.

And after. He did SO good. The doctor and nurses were shocked he was so good and made several comments about how good he was. They got him wrapped up tight in a blanket and got 3 of the stitches in before he cried. Then, he cried for a few minutes because the bright light was making him hot and as soon as they moved it, he stopped. So nice to have a happy baby!

I'm hoping this isn't a sign of times to come with 3 kids. I feel like the hospital needs to give me a frequent visitor card I'm there so much!

Goodbye Grandma Rosie

Last Friday (9/6/13), my grandma passed away. She hadn't been sick, and as a matter of fact, we were up there for a visit a month ago and she was playing with and holding my kids. It makes me sad to think that another family member is no longer here and my kids will be without an extended family, but I know she'll always been watching us from Heaven.

Just some fun facts:
Teagan was born so early and spent a few weeks in the NICU and I spent the entire time up there with her and stayed at my Grandma's house.
When Teagan was healthy enough to come home, she spent her very first night at my Grandma's house as well before making the trip home.
My Grandma made the best french toast and peach cobbler and had no problem spoiling me (and later my kids) when we visited.
The last time I went for a visit, she was so excited to see Brennen and kept saying how happy my kids were.
When she use to visit us when I was small, she would sleep in my bed with me and we would "tell secrets" and make my mom jealous. :)

These things make me happy to remember. I made a point to always go up and visit once she got too "old" to drive down here. (She didn't like to sit too long in the car). And we would go up at least twice a year.

Brennen is 9 months

and I'll do a post another day! HA. Sorry to my third child, but I'm a needed momma today! (And, for the record, he has a doctor appt Friday and will get the stats then)

I'm back...

After a 2 month hiatus, I decided to give ya'll something to read! Ok, not really, but I'm at least posting again. I just got burned out on the same ole thing.
My kids are growing like weeds.
Teagan started Pre-K 3 weeks ago (see post) and loves it. I don't really mind having 3 days a week of just me and baby time, but the unloading and loading up sure does take a lot of time. She loves to do crafts and paints most days. She has really gotten good at staying in the lines. We are working hard on letter recognition, but she really isn't into me teaching her so Ms. Ficko may have to do it!
Emmersyn is getting more and more adventurous every day. She LOVES to swing from the bars at Teagan's school, from the oven door, and even the kitchen table. She loves to climb on the back of the couch and jump. She has absolutely no fear. She has learned to jump with both feet off the ground and loves to jump from our steps. I don't think she realizes she can get hurt and keeps me and Matt on our toes. She is the one we worry most about.
Brennen has started crawling all over the place. He can now stand for a bit on his own and feel like he will be walking within a month or so. He is an easy going baby and although he doesn't like to sleep, I think I'll keep him. HA.  He still gets up every 3-4hrs at night. He is about the same size as Emmy. He will be passing her up in no time at this rate, but maybe he'll lose the chub when he starts moving more.
Matt took a new job and switched hours. He now has normal times to go in and works 8-4:30.  It's better for him, but makes for a long day for me as I had to switch my hours too. I now work M-Thur 6p-11p and Sat/Sun 6a-3p.  Working 6 days sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do to keep insurance right?!?!
And that's about all the news in the Murray House.

First Day of Pre-K

Teagan started Pre-K on August 5th. I can't believe how big she is getting! In true Teagan fashion, she had to take her puppy and wear her Jasmine ring on the first day!

Teagan is definitely a people person. She knows no stranger and will usually talk to anyone. She can make friends easily and will play with any boy or girl. I love this quality about her. She isn't scared of school and no tears were shed....by her.  She went in and sat by her friend Leighla and then asked "aren't you suppose to leave now?". HA. I am thankful she isn't a cryer or else I don't think I would be able to leave her! She would have to stay with me!

Weightloss Wednesday

Ok, beware of the shocker I'm about to tell ya....I've fallen off the wagon completely.  Complete shocker I know! HA. I've been on and off a diet for as long as I can remember and anytime something stressful happens I turn to food. This stage in my life is definitely one stress after another it seems. I worry constantly about my kids, my hubby, money, family, etc etc etc
A few weeks ago I went to my regular, annual girly doctor for a checkup. Well, she found a lump in my breast. She sent me up to her ultrasound person in the office. She saw a mass so I was scheduled for a diagnostic ultrasound at a specialist. Of course, it wasn't able to be scheduled for about 6 days so I was stressed for a while waiting. I went and the radiologist did the u/s and said everything was normal. I'm not sure what the dr felt or their u/s lady saw, but they are thinking it was just a cyst or swollen lymph node. However, after that, I have yet to get back up on the wagon. We have a ton of birthday parties coming up and I have a girls weekend trip planned so I"m going to wait and enjoy them and then get back on.

Emmersyn at 18 months

It is so hard to believe that Emmersyn is already a year and a half! It seems like forever ago and yesterday all at once! Emmersyn has quite the personality. She LOVES to climb anything and will often be found on the table, climbing over the fence at the stairs, swinging from my oven door, or climbing from the dishwasher onto the cabinets. To say she is full of energy is an understatement and we are constantly having to keep our eye on her!

She LOVES to laugh and do funny things. Her new favorite thing to do is climb in Brennen's swing and make faces at herself in the mirror above it. Emmersyn is definitely 100% a mommy's girl. She is ok with Matt as long as I'm not around. Once she sees me, I am the only one that'll do. However, she has to have her daddy put her to bed...crazy girl!

Emmersyn LOVES to be outside. She loves to run and run. She loves to watch the cars go by when we sit on my porch. She loves to slide and swing. I think she would live outside if I let her and LOVES to go to my moms because my mom will just let her run all over the backyard (she has an acre and half).

Emmersyn LOVES her brother and sister. Sometimes I'm afraid she is going to smother Brennen with her "hugs", but they both smile and laugh. She loves to wrestle with Teagan and is quite the strong little monster! I am pretty sure she will be a good athlete because she is both strong and fearless. She wants so bad to keep up with the big kids when we go out with Teagan's friends.  She is not much of a sitter and doesn't like to go on car rides too much unless it's close to nap time. She is much too busy to sit still.

At 18 months Emmersyn:

  • wears a size 4 diaper and will sit on the potty (although she won't actually go pee pee yet)
  • wears a size 12-18mn in clothes depending on the stretch and style
  • wears a size 5 shoe and LOVES shoes
  • takes 2 naps during the day (about 1-1.5hrs each)
  • sleeps from 8:30pm-6am, although since April it's more like 5:30 and then will come in mommy's bed til 6-6:30
  • STILL drinks from a bottle at night, but a sippy during the day. (She climbed over her crib when I took the bottle away at night and broke her tooth)
  • has 12 teeth and 4 more coming in
  • does NOT like her hair fixed, but loves to have it brushed. If she has a bow in it, she'll rip it out before we leave the house
  • has dark brown hair and big blue eyes
  • only says 'momma', 'dada', and 'bubba'
  • can point to every part of her body when asked
  • can follow commands such as go get ____, or put that in the sink

I am so blessed to have such amazing kids. I know I complain (a LOT) about lack of sleep, but I love being a mom and think my kids are great!

Father's Day 2013

Sunday was a day to celebrate dads and that is what we did! I got up with Emmersyn and let Matt sleep in. He didn't really sleep as late as I would have, but considering he normally is up at 3:30, 7:30 was sleeping in for him.  We decided to go get breakfast so I got all the kids dressed and fixed their hair and out we went for the day. The breakfast place we were going to try was closed down so we ended up with Denny's. Not bad, but not really what I had in mind.
After breakfast we headed up to the rehab hospital to see his step-dad and mom. We got him a book with all of Brennen's six month pictures.  They were doing a brunch thing there too, but we didn't stay. The kids were ready for a nap by that time so we let them sleep and headed up to Edinburgh to shop and spend some family time. I got a new double stroller and the babies did pretty good. After spending too much money and getting everything we had wanted to get, we headed back home. We stopped for dinner and to feed Brennen in Seymour at Chili's. It isn't as good as the Chili's here, but it was still a nice dinner (and as a plus, it meant no cooking or dishes for me!).
I know the past year has been crazy for Matt, but he is handling 3 kids under 5 really good. He doesn't get to go out as much as he wants and I haven't been able to get a "real" job like we had planned, but we are taking it in stride and enjoying the days as much as we can and I can't picture life without him by my side!

CHEEEEEEESE!

I was trying to get a good picture of all the kids and of course Emmersyn has a new "cheese" face she has to show when I hold up any camera so this is as good as it gets! She is ate up! But I'm laughing just looking at the picture so I guess it works! Love my kids!

My sailor boy

I found this little outfit at Old Navy and knew Matt would love it for Brennen. Matt was in the Navy right after high school and I know he secretly hopes that his boy will join too...however, I don't want to think of him being old enough so this is as close to a sailor as I can picture him!

Off the blog wagon

I'm so off the blogging thing right now. I can't find time to sleep much less blog about not sleeping. It's such a bad cycle right now in my house. I FINALLY have Brennen sleeping 6-8hrs straight at night and now Emmersyn is up every few hours. I'm not sure what is going on with her really, but wish whatever it was would go away. I'm dead tired of being up multiple times through the night, then working and taking care of kids while  I'm half beat.
Thankfully, this is the last week of T-ball so maybe that'll free up a bit more time in my life...not really sure it will though since the games are only an hour, but it's worth the try. Teagan has really liked playing with her friends and hitting the ball, but she is not going to be my ball player. She is more interested in throwing her hat and grass than she is in actually throwing the ball. HA. My mom said that's typical in T-ball so i really just let her go and have fun.
Hoping to keep up the blogs as I like to get my thoughts out, but I know I'm way behind! Hoping to go take a short power nap to hold me over til bedtime (ps, it's 9 AM right now). We'll see how that works!

Weightloss Wednesday (a day early)

Because I'm extra busy this week with multiple doctor appointments, meetings, new management at work to kiss butt with, and just the everyday household work, I decided to post this early!

I'm still doing well on the diet. I have had a lot more trouble staying on my calorie count the past week, but overall I know I have to allow for some wiggle room...even if it is my thighs that wiggle! HA.

The first week and a half (9 days really) I lost 11 pounds. I felt great with eating mostly salads and fruit/veggies. The second week I lost 3, but it was hard. I had a few days I was extra tired and just hungry for sweets. Anyone that knows me KNOWS how much I LOVE sweets! Add in a few dinners with friends and a few more cheat items, and I was happy with the 3 pound loss.

i think I need some more motivation. I'm hoping to kick start it again, but honestly, I hate the slow pace of losing weight. Somehow I just want to lose all the weight in one week and work on maintenance, but I know that won't happen!

favorite 6 mn picture

I took Brennen to get his 6 month pictures a week or so ago and I love the way they turned out! I was only going to try this new place so I could take all the kids next month for all their pictures, but I loved the pictures so much I spent more than $100 on just Brennen! Whoops!

This is definitely my favorite. The photographer did a great job at posing him and doing a ton of different things. I was totally shocked at the quality of the pictures since it is a relatively cheap place to get pictures! I can't believe how big he looks, but this definitely catches his personality and mischievous smile behind the hat! I also love the way his toes curl in on one foot and flex on the other...typical Brennen behavior right now!

Weight Loss Wednesday

Ok peeps (LOL) here's the story. Apparently, I have a weight issue! I know, who knew?!?! HA. Anyways, I am TRYING to lose weight and get healthier (again) and thought maybe if I blog once a week or so I may do better at keeping on track! I started last Tuesday (yes, totally random day) and have done REALLY good at the eating part. Because my blood pressure is extremely high, I can't do too much because the dr doesn't want my BP to go even higher and risk stroke. That's part of the whole reason to diet really.
So, although I have a very LONG journey in front of me, the beginning steps are started!

Dance Recital 2013

(I will add pictures as soon as I upload some)

Teagan had her very first dance recital on Sunday, May 19.  She has been with most of the same group of girls for 40 weeks (since August) so they do really well together for a group of 3-5year olds!  Her tap song was Pretty Woman. She did fantastic and of course, in true diva fashion, did a cute curtsy at the end of the dance.

Brennen at 6 months

This little guy is 6 months old! It is so hard to believe!

At 6 months:
you weigh 21lb4.5oz and are 28.5 inches long (96th percentile on both).
you wear a size 6 month in clothes and jammies
you wear a size 3 diaper
you continue to roll from side to side but cannot sit unsupported yet
you are getting MUCH better with sleeping, you usually sleep 6hrs straight at night, get a bottle and go back to sleep for another 4 hrs. You also take 2 naps during the day at the same time Emmersyn does
you are usually mellow and love to watch people. You only cry when hungry
you are eating stage 2 baby foods

Brennen Michael, we love you so much! I thank God everyday that I get to be your mommy!

Mother's Day 2014

Look at the best card I've ever gotten for Mother's Day:

I love Teagan's teacher and school. They come up with all these cute things I wish I had energy for (or patience). This card came home with Teagan on Thursday along with a plant they have been growing in a painted pot.  It's hard to read, but it's a questionnaire that the kids answered about their moms.  I'm not sure where Teagan got that my favorite color is orange, but I love that she listed hugging as her favorite thing to do with me.

Random Pictures

I take a million pictures a day on my phone and hardly ever upload them to the computer to share on my blog. I finally uploaded a few today.

My 3 little babies still in jammies

Emmersyn was suppose to be sleeping. This is at 2 am and she was ready to party

Teagan and Brennen at the zoo on the day Emmersyn and my inlaws were in the wreck. I LOVE this picture, but wish it didn't bring back bad memories

Final progress report

Teagan got her final progress report for her first year of preschool! I can't believe she only has a week left of her very first year. It seems to have flown by. I hope the rest of her school years don't go as fast or she'll be leaving for college in no time! BOO!

She improved in all areas compared to her first report in December (which was good too). She received all 3, 3+, and 4s on this report, except for a single 2 in number recognition. 2 means needs work, 3 is age appropriate, and 4 is exceeds. I knew we needed to work on numbers, but my main focus this year has been letters so not a big deal. We will definitely work on numbers more this summer though.

Overall, I am very pleased with her schooling. She has not had a hard time transitioning from being home with me to going to school and I am so happy for that. I know if she had cried, I would have kept her home with me. I am a sucker when it comes to my kids (or anyones) crying.  That's part of the reason I couldn't be a teacher! HA

Happy Boy

5.5months

Brennen continues to be such a happy boy. The only time he really fusses is if he is hungry. This is him at Teagan's ball game last night. He makes friends quick with his bright eyes and big smile!

First Game

Teagan had her first T-ball game on Thursday. She LOVES the idea of playing, but actually only wants to play with her friends and hit the ball. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to be on a team with 5 kids she already knows well. The poor coach has no hope! HA. However, they're only 4-5 year olds so they should just be playing for fun anyways.

The pictures loaded backwards. The bottom is Teagan up to bat the first time. She looks like she's posing...always the princess! HA. And the top is her running to first base. She LOVES to run. Crazy gril!

I'm hoping to get to watch next game. This game i spent the majority of the time chasing Emmersyn all over. She was a wild child and wanted to run all over!

A mother's worst fear

Monday night Emmersyn was not in the mood to sleep in her crib. She has a horrible ear infection and ruptured ear drum so laying flat was not an option for her (based on her screaming). She wanted her momma to hold her so I held her while she slept and I stayed up most of the night in my recliner.  Tuesday I was exhausted. I had promised Teagan a trip to the zoo after school so I knew we had to go.
My mother in law called Tuesday morning and asked if she could take the girls shopping and to lunch. Normally, I would say no right away or make up an excuse. I'm not one that ever lets my kids go in a car with someone else.  However, the thought of all 3 kids at the zoo was not something I thought sounded fun anymore so I agreed to have Emmersyn go with my in laws after school for a few hours. It was her first trip alone with anyone except Matt of course.
Teagan, Brennen, and I had a good time at the zoo. We walked the whole zoo and saw everything and Teagan even rode the merry go round all by herself for the first time. When we were leaving, Teagan told me she was thirsty and asked for a cheeseburger so we headed to the McDonald's a few blocks from the zoo. I placed my order and my phone rang. I declined it since I was at the intercom. Matt called right back so I picked up. All I heard was "mom was in a head on collision. Prius is totaled. Other driver died". I skipped out in the line and drove as fast I could go to back to Indiana. I rushed to Clark Memorial and vaguely remember calling my mom who was in Leavenworth seeing patients. She rushed back to meet me.  Of course once I got to Clark and unloaded the other kids, Matt called to tell me they were going to Kosair instead so I ran back to the car and rushed back over the bridge to Kosair. As I drove past, I saw them unloading Emmersyn from the ambulence. She was still strapped in her car seat on the stretcher. Poor thing. Matt said they were not going to unhook her in case something was wrong it would unstabilize her and they wanted the doctors to be the ones to release her.
End result is Emmersyn escaped with just bruises and cuts. She will probably be slightly sore, but thankfully she is fine. Thank God for carseats. The nurse actually thanked me for using one. He said most people don't use car seats once the babies get out of a carrier type. I found that crazy since Teagan is still in a booster type.
My inlaws were not as lucky as Emmersyn.  My mother in law got the worst of it. Her foot was pinned under the pedals, her forearm bone was almost out of her skin and snapped.  Her ankle bones were shattered. She is in critical condition at UofL. Matt said she was so concerned about Emmersyn though and couldn't move to look at her in the car. They kept trying to get Emmersyn to make noise in the backseat, but Emmy wouldn't.
My father in law has fractured ribs and a fractured sternum.  He is in ICU with a morphine drip for pain. He is older and has oxygen on too for lung issues.
Please pray for a full recovery for everyone and please use car seats!!! I am amazed that Emmersyn is walking around like normal a few hours after the accident while everyone else is in ICU or dead. The other driver had a heart attack while driving, crossed a grassy median, and hit my in laws car head on. Thank God no one was hurt worse than they are!

A day in my life with 3 kids

I haven't done a day in my life for a while and I want to keep a record of what my life is at this phase with 3 little ones.
I'm going to do a normal Tuesday since it's my off day (usually) and Teagan has school

2am-Feed Brennen a bottle
5:30am- get up and take a shower if I'm going to before Emmersyn wakes up
6ish- Emmersyn is usually up by this time now. She's been cutting teeth for what seems like forever
I'll usually bring Emmersyn and Brennen downstairs at the same time
6:30- make Emmersyn milk and give her a snack of goldfish or crackers while I feed Brennen a bottle
7:15am- Wake Teagan. I get her up, dressed, shoes on,  hair fixed, and teeth brushed for school
7:30am-Breakfast for the girls. Usually I make eggs, pancakes, or blueberry muffins. Teagan is on a chocolate milk phase right now so she'll usually eat a bite of food and then only want her milk. Emmersyn will eat her portion plus whatever Teagan doesn't eat HA
7:30-8am- I get the babies dressed, myself dressed (while Emmersyn finishes breakfast), and make sure Teagan is ready
8am- All kids loaded up in carseats and in the car to head to school
8:15am-Unload all the kids and take in school for dropoff. Hang up coat, put backpack up, etc
8:20ish-Load babies back in car
8:30am-Unload babies from car and bring in house. Undo Brennen from carseat and we play with various toys for a bit
9:15-put Emmersyn down for a nap
9:30-feed Brennen a small bottle and put in swing to nap as well
9:45-10:15- I pay bills, blog, catch up on laundry, dishes, or if I'm extra lucky, take a nap
10:30am-get babies changed and loaded back into the carseats
11am- unload babies and get Teagan
11:15am- (we play with friends in the parking lot) Load back all the kids and head home or McDonald's for a diet coke and lunch
12-LUnch time

Hell, I have no idea what else I did today. I gave up writing it down after my 80th time loading kids in the car. If I look back, all I'll know is I have some heavy duty arm muscles! HA

when did this happen?

Sometime between having 2 babies in a year and now, my first baby has grown up! I'm not sure when it happened, but it makes me very sad.  She no longer needs my help doing a lot of things, which is a good thing I know, but it still is bittersweet.

Here she is doing a "big girl" puzzle with pieces that do not go on a board. Oh yeah, big time stuff and she does it ALL BY HERSELF! Oh my! She is such a smart and loving girl. I thank God everyday that He chose me to be her mom. I think I'm the luckiest mom in the world to be blessed with her and hope her little brother and sister turn out as good as she has been!

Some things she does right now that makes her sound so much older than just 4 (and barely a month):
She calls Matt "dad" a lot now and me "mom". I correct her and make her say mommy or momma still, but I know it's just a matter of time before I'm mom all the time. Boo
She can get in the fridge and get her own juice or snack if it's in there. (already cut up, but still....)
She comforts Emmersyn when she cries (usually it is because of something Teagan has done, but again, sweet gesture). She also Emmersyn "Em" a lot.
She LOVES to hold Brennen and will cover him up when he falls asleep

Some ways I knows she's always going to be my little baby girl:
She LOVES to cuddle still and have me rub her back when she watches TV
She still wants one of us to sleep with her and will tell us she's scared of the dark. (She will usually get one night every few weeks to actually sleep with us)
She still has her stuffed animal she takes to school everyday
She gives me hugs and kisses at school IN FRONT OF HER FRIENDS!!!

A first for Brennen

Brennen rolled over from his back to his belly and then from his belly to his back tonight! Of course, I was in the kitchen and missed the back to belly part, but hey, I was in the house this time! HA  It seems like I always miss the first times for all my kiddos, but there will be more.
YAY Brennen! I can't believe how big you are getting!

PARK

It has been so nice outside lately. The temperatures are starting to warm up, but not to the point I feel like I'm boiling, the birds are out, and flowers are blooming. I know that Teagan especially has been going CRAZY inside with not much to do so I thought it was time I (wo)man-up and take the kids to the park. I had gotten a text from a friend wanting to know if I wanted to meet her since it would be nice and honestly, I was a bit scared at the idea. I've taken the kids all to the grocery, to Target, and other places here and there, but not anywhere I didn't have a cart to strap them in, but I said yes anyway.

And, I'm SO happy I said yes! The girls had a blast! Teagan and Emmersyn played and climbed up the plaything a million times and slid down the slides. They were SO good. I was slightly worried about Emmersyn though because she's a bit of a dare devil and the playground equipment is very high with an opening she could jump from at the top, but she did good. She mostly followed Teagan and Killian (my friend's son) all around and played in the mulch. We left there and they were filthy. Luckily, I timed it right, and Brennen slept most of the time in his careat/stroller which worked wonderfully.

One of my biggest fears when I found out I was pregnant so close together with the babies was if I would ever be able to take Teagan out like I had before. I didn't want her to suffer and resent her siblings and I hate relying on others to come with me to help. I like being an independent mom and doing things with or without someone.  And Monday, I proved I could do it with 3 kids all alone! YAY

Brennen's baptism

Brennen was baptized into the Catholic church on Saturday, April 13, after Mass. He had fallen asleep during Mass and stayed that way until Fr Paul poured the water on his head and then he woke up screaming! Who could blame him though!
We choose our friends, Becky and Jay, to be the godparents. Becky and I have been friends since freshman year of high school and have went through a ton of stuff together, from high school boyfriends to infertility to NICU babies (both of us) we been there for each other. And Matt and Jay have been friends since high school. They both joined the Navy together and have been a constant in each others lives. I hope they love our kids as much as we do.

Brennen's cake. Wasn't really impressed with the design, but love the taste!

Brennen getting a blessing from Fr Paul. (if you look closely, you will see Teagan's head. She had to stand up there with us of course! HA)

The Murray Family with the godparents
Such a good picture of everyone

 Murray Family of 5
I know you all are SO jealous of my life, right?!?!

Ok, this is better! My sweet family was about DONE with pictures at this point.
Side note: In EVERY picture, Teagan has her head tilted like this. I'm surprised I didn't hear how sore her neck was the next day! HA

Tball

Teagan started t-ball practices over the weekend. We all went on Friday afternoon to her very first practice! I think she was more interested in batting and picking flowers in the infield than she was in actually paying attention, but she had fun.  They had another practice on Saturday at 1 that Matt took her to while I cleaned up the house for Brennen's baptism.

I stole these from Erin, but I'm the worst about uploading pictures! Teagan at bat! She has a ton of strength so we're hoping she can wallop the ball far!

Winding up to hit. She is SO excited about being able to hit the ball!

Teagan is one of only 3 girls on the team. Both the other girls were not able to come to practice over the weekend so Teagan thinks she's the only one. I'm sure she'll have the boys doing what she wants in no time! She LOVES playing with boys so I'm sure we won't have any trouble there.

Busy Busy Busy

Life just keeps getting busier for the Murray family! I just can't keep up with things right now.  Teagan had her very first t-ball meeting on Tuesday. We met her coach, got her shirt and hat, and also the practice/game schedule! She's so excited her "boyfriend" Jayden is on the team, and we also know 3 of the other kids on the team as well. It should be a fun (and busy) season.  She is also excited she is the number 1 Angel! HA~her team name is the Angels and her shirt number is 1...she's a nut!

Brennen rolled over during tummy time on Monday night. I was SO happy I got to witness the first roll. I missed the big rolls with the girls due to work so I was extra excited and probably scared my baby!
Brennen is also getting baptized on Saturday. Today is Friday, and I have yet to get his baptismal outfit...poor third child! HA. Don't worry, I work better under pressure!

Emmersyn has FOUR teeth coming in right now and is slightly miserable! The molars have popped through the gums, but not all the way up yet.  I'm hoping they grow fast so I get my happy, mellow girl back. Right now, she's been running fevers, had snotty noses, and been a fuss bucket at naps, but I know her poor mouth is hurting. Yesterday, Matt took her to the doctor just to make sure she didn't have anything more going on. She woke up with goop coming from her ears, but she is good. The doctor said it was all teeth related and just treat her with tylenol and teething tablets!

My dermatologist is back from vacation. I got the pathology report back from my biopsy. There is no cancer, but they are a moderate level so I will be getting more cut out of my back to make sure all the abnormal cells are gone and then recheck every 6 months. Oh goody!

updates on momma

I can't really think of a blog title so I'm just doing a million updates on me.
I am off the postpartum meds and feel about normal. There are days I get overwhelmed, but just the normal, everyday mom type. I no longer feel I NEED them to function if that makes sense! YAY
I haven't worn maternity pants in over 4 months, which may be the longest I've went in the past 2 years! HA
I can't really say if I'm below my pregnancy weight because honestly, which pregnancy do I use...they seemed to overlap.
I probably should be taking my vitamins daily still, but I can't remember to do it
My bp is still very high even with new meds for it (technically I'm on my old, prepreggo medicine) and I'm working on a new plan to get that leveled out and hopefully get rid of my horrible headaches
I'm finally feeling like I have a routine/schedule with work, preschool, kids, etc. It involves no sleep, but it's still a routine right?!?
I think I'm slowly getting use to the idea of not ever sleeping again and my body no longer hates me every morning that I wake up with 3 hours of sleep for the night
I had an appointment with a new dermatologist last week during lunch and she removed some moles to be biopsied on my back. Wasn't expecting that on my lunch and it sucked working the rest of the day with cuts all over, but glad she did it! They came back today as abnormal so I'm talking with the doctor next week when she gets back from vacation on a "plan of action".
I'm still trying to process the last part of that so I can't verbalize much on it. I don't think we would need a plan other than watch it if it weren't a serious issue though.
Anyways, that's all that's new in my life of 5. Keep ya updated on me again soon!

He eats!

Mr. Brennen is not doing well with waiting 3 hours to eat so we thought we would try some solids today! We usually start with carrots, but this momma forgot to buy any yesterday at the store, so we switched it up a bit and started with squash instead. No real reason we start with carrots except there are 3 orange veggies and it's the least sweet. I usually go orange, green, orange, etc on veggies when they start eating just so they don't turn orange with all the same stuff! HA

Funny story about this...I got Matt a bib and a spoon out to start feeding Brennen. I just grabbed the first bib on the pile which was from a goodie bag I got from the OB. He looked at it when he put it on Brennen and said "hell no, get him a sports bib". HA

First bite and it was blocked by Matt's big ole hand in my picture! I saw it first hand, but no blog first bite picture...this is the best I could do!

Not too sure if he liked it or not. His tongue was doing a fun little trick of trying to lick it off the spoon which instead just spit squash at us! He did eat about 8 spoonfuls though.

You can most definately tell he's our third child! Matt did have to find his baby spoon to feed Brennen though so that's a plus. Teagan used it as well, and Emmersyn used my first spoon so we kept that tradition.
We waited until 6 months before we started any solids with Teagan, about 5 months with Emmersyn, and Brennen is 4! Crazy how relaxed you get with each kid! I'm gonna hate to see our grocery bill in a few more months with FIVE eating Murray people! Better start saving now!

Happy Easter!

  Happy Easter 2013!!!
Easter is probably my FAVORITE holiday ever! You get to play all day, get together and eat, and hide eggs/do fun things without the obligation of getting presents.  I do not feel the need to go "all out" for Easter either. My kids will get baskets with some candy and eggs in it and while they are too little for candy, they will get a toy instead. I want them to understand the reason for the holiday and not expect lots of extra things.

The Easter bunny came last night and the kids woke up to find eggs hidden all over the downstairs and their baskets on the table! I got the girls their baskets last year with their names on them and LOVE them! I tried to get Brennen one this year, but the lady didn't have any so I'm going to have to shop around and see what I can find him. This year, he shared a basket with mommy and daddy and got a toy!

Easter Egg hunt

We had a few friends over for a last minute, impromptu Easter Egg hunt on Saturday evening. Since I work most weekends, especially holidays, it's hard for me to take the kids to any of the hunts so a friend and I decided to just throw one at my house! We had 4 couples with their kids over for some hunting, pizza, and fun. We ended up with 7 kids ranging from 4 months to 4 years!

Teagan was READY!

All the kids here are within 5 months of age with Teagan being the oldest, 4. The others will turn 4 in July and August!

And of course Emmersyn wanted to play with the big kids too!

Searching for more!

I am so glad I have friends who have kids so close in age with mine! It definitely makes for some fun evenings and get togethers! Can't wait to do it again!!!

A normal day

On any given day, you can find Teagan dressed like this:

She got this Tangled dress for her birthday and wears it practically everyday! It's a safe bet that she likes it! She also got some makeup for her birthday so that's why her eyes are so blue...they are not bruised! LOL

4 year checkup

Teagan had her 4 year check up on Tuesday with both babies well checks too! That's right, all 3 kids at the doctor getting shots at once... Good times! The babies got their regular shots and we went ahead and got Teagan's kindergarten shots. They told us we could get them next year if we wanted, but I had already been working Teagan up to it all day (I didn't know it was an option) and had bribed her with a milkshake if she was good. When we found out it was an option to wait, Matt and I thought about it, but decided to go ahead with the plan as she was getting blood drawn anyways to check some other things. No point in her throwing a fit for nothing.

Here are her 4 year stats:
Weight: 48lbs4oz (98.12%)
Height: 43inches (97.03%)

She is definately a big, solid girl, but I don't think she looks too much bigger (wight wise) than the other kids her age. It is so weird to see she is 3foot 7 inches tall already at 4 though considering Randi is all of 5ft 4 maybe....no idea where she gets her height!

Brennen at 4 months

Brennen turned 4 months on the 27th as well and again, I'm late on posting...big surprise!

Brennen, at 4mn, you are a great boy! You laugh out loud now and light up when you see your sisters. You love people and will usually "talk" to them by gooing and are not lacking in the friend department.  You are a messy eater still, but are gaining weight so the doctors aren't too concerned, although it makes for extra laundry for mommy!

Your hair has lightened up and has thinned out. You can blame daddy for the thinning hair! HA! It looks like your eyes will be blue, although some days they still look green so who knows!

At 4 months, you are wearing a size 3 or 3-6 mn in sleepers and usually a size 3mn in clothes.  I haven't tried shoes on you, but you have some cute socks that look like shoes.  You are wearing a size 2 diaper and eat about 5 oz of formula every 3-4 hrs. You usually sleep about 5hrs straight at night and then go 4 hrs until you wake again. Much better than it has been so I'll take it.

You weigh 16lb5oz (78.8%) and are 26.3 inches (90.03%). You have gotten to be a big boy lately and are soon going to be as big as Emmy! Some days I can't believe you are mine. You can roll to your side on your back but can't flip to the belly yet. You are such an easy baby. You are happy ALL the time except when you want to eat and then you want to eat and nothing else will soothe you.

Brennen Michael, I love you with all my heart!

Emmersyn at 15mn

Emmersyn turned 15 months on the 27th and in true middle child form, I am late posting! HA. I was hoping things would get easier the older my babies got, but it has gotten more challenging trying to do blog posts on a regular basis.

Emmy, at 15mn you are a feisty girl! You LOVE to climb into and on top of anything. You love to jump off the couch and climb over anyone laying on the floor. Your newest conquest has been climbing the chairs and onto the kitchen table and you have mastered climbing out of your crib already! You are definitely the one to keep mommy and daddy on our toes.

You are a happy girl though. You LOVE your sister and brother and they love you too....usually.  You think you're bigger than you really are though. You try to do anything Teagan does. You LOVE running around and being outside. You aren't a fan of being contained in the carseat, and will usually just fuss or fall asleep in the car.  You have the best personality and I think you'll be a tomboy. You love to get dirty. You love bathtime and ANYTHING with water and love to put your face in the water and blow bubbles.

You love to eat. You will eat anything and I joke you would probably eat a rock if we let you. If anyone is eating, you stand there and grunt until they feed you something too! You love to throw balls and play with the rocking horse, although you usually like to climb on his back and stand on him.

At 15 months, you weigh 23lb2oz (57%) and are 31.75inches (87%). I still think you are so tiny though. You are wearing 12-18month clothes and a size 4 diaper and size 4 shoes.  You are still taking 2 naps a day and sleep about 10 hrs at night (8pm-6am) usually, but you also have night terrors and scream several times a night even though you are still asleep...it wakes mommy up though!

You are such a great daughter and we love you beyond words, even if you do keep us jumping all day!

Directory Picture

Here is the newest Murray Family of 5 picture for the church directory! I love the original (this is a copy). I wish Emmersyn  was smiling, but all 3 kids were looking at the camera and no one was crying so I call it a success!

Emmy the climber

Emmersyn has learned how to climb EVERYTHING! It started with the kitchen chairs and she then learned she can climb up the table from there. And, she can move the chairs all over the kitchen and reach everything off the cabinets...FUN times!!!
At her morning naps, I usually take a shower since she is contained. Today, I put her and Brennen to bed and jumped in the shower. I heard what I thought was crying and then a second later Emmersyn walked into the bathroom...yup, she has now figured out how to climb out of her crib...at 14monthes! I think she hit her face on the way out though because she has a red mark on her forehead and a chipped tooth which means her first dentist appointment was scheduled for tomorrow! The joys of having 3 kids! I wish I could back in time and realize how good Teagan was as a babY! HA

mY 3 Princesses

Sorry Brennen, This is what happens when you have 2 big sisters though. Sometimes you have to take one for the team! I'm sure he will be embarrassed later in life, but for now, he's a good sport! And Matt let Teagan paint his nails today for her birthday so maybe the guys are just destined to be overran by the girls in this house!

Bittersweet

Teagan's birthday is always bittersweet to me. I am so proud to be her mom. She is super sweet, smart, funny, and loving. Yes, she does get in trouble and acts like any other 3-4 year old, but to me, she's perfect! Having adopted her, I always remember the sacrifice and love Randi showed by placing her for adoption and "giving" her to us.  I can still picture her sad, crying face in the back of her moms car as they left the hospital without Teagan. And, I do not know how I can ever express my gratitude to her for giving me the best gift I could ever get.
Another reason it is so bittersweet is because I can remember how tiny Teagan looked in the NICU. She was born at 32 weeks. I was terrified seeing her hooked up to so many things, but I knew she was a fighter as soon as she pulled her first feeding tube out. I knew she got her strength from Randi and we would be going home quicker than they said. And we did. We spent a LONG 2 weeks there, and I didn't leave her side at all. I am thankful that of all my kids it was her in the NICU as I wasn't having to recover from birth and could focus 100% on her.  I know now that God gives you what you can handle and you are given the kids you are meant to raise, whether is be through adoption, birth, or both.  And, having done both, I don't think I could love Teagan any more if she had grown in my belly.

Celebrating Teagan

WOW! I can't believe Teagan is 4! We celebrated her birthday with our friends last night. Instead of having a dozen little people at the house, we decided to rent out bounce time at a local gym. I think the kids had more fun there than they would have at our house playing little games and it was a bonus I didn't have to clean the house! HA! That is well worth the price. My only con of renting it out was no food except cake/cupcakes were allowed!

Me and my big girl before the guests arrived!

Some of Teagan's friends listening to the rules

playing with the trampoline and big building blocks. I think one of the boys is behind the tower, but you couldn't see him.

Happy birthday princess!!!

Favorite things!

I LOVE being a mom, but there are a few things I miss since having kids!

Here's a list of a few of the things that I miss and can remember:

  • taking a LONG bath without someone wanting to join me...other than my hubby! HA
  • shaving both legs on the same day and not missing half of them because I thought I heard a baby
  • eating dinner in one sitting
  • when having a shower every day wasn't a treat, it was the norm
  • not having to think about what I want at a restaurant in terms of "what can I share with the kids"
  • being able to walk out the door in 10 minutes
  • not knowing the pooping habits of 3 other people on any given day
  • days off
  • and most of all SLEEP!
That being said, I wouldn't change my sleepless nights and hairy legs for anything!

my girls

Yay! A picture of my girls!

Emmersyn, 14months and Teagan, 3

Life

Time keeps getting away from me! It seems as if I blog less and less and have absolutely NO pictures...I'll get better, I promise!
Life is in full swing right now. Teagan turns FOUR next week and I'm in shock! How in the world did that happen?!?!  It seems like just yesterday she was the size of Brennen and now she's a big girl! Crazy!
Nothing new really has been going on. I was back on night shift the past 2 weeks and I don't feel like I saw Matt at all!  I'd leave when he got home and when I got home he was going to bed with the girls while I settled in with Brennen.  I'm hoping this week is a little less hectic with my inlaws back to watch the kids during the day some.
I've been battling some horrible headaches the past month or so. I've gotten to the point of barely being able to hold my head upright.  I've tried everything and finally bit the bullet and went to the doctor last week to change my blood pressure meds. Of course, my appointment was on Friday so by the time I went to the pharmacy and discovered they weren't called in, the doctor's office was closed for the weekend...awesome! I've got a call in now to the doctor! Hoping that's all it is, but it may be related to something else. I just want a quick fix so I can feel like a human again!
Emmersyn has a new tooth! Total of 8. I'm not sure if I already blogged it or not, and frankly I"m too lazy to go back and check! LOL. My new favorite phrase I say at least a dozen times a day is "Emmy, where's your brother's binky?". She LOVES to take it and hide it, but yet if I ask her where it is, she can walk on over and find it in 2 seconds! Wish I had her memory still!
We got our church directory pictures done last week and I LOVE them! I can't wait to get them. I got a CD with all the pictures so soon I will be uploading actual pictures for you all to see!
And that's all that's been going on in the Murray house. Boring people, yes!

Monday, February 25, 2013

hello again!

So, it's been 2 weeks since I've posted anything and honestly, not a lot has been going on. We are in full planning mode right now. We have Teagan's birthday/party to plan, Easter is a few weeks later, Brennen's baptism, and we also have church pictures scheduled for next week.  Luckily, with all those things going on, I  will get several uses out of the matching clothes I buy the kids! HA!
I have adjusted to working again, although I am already ready for a vacation that doesn't require staples.  The last 'vacation' we took was to Disney in October 2011 and I was 30 weeks preggo...not too relaxing!  Honestly, I just like planning a vacation because it gives me something to fantasize about during work and gets me through the hard times away from my kids!

This past weekend Matt and I went to a dinner club party. It was fun to get out of the house and have adult conversation, although we did end up talking about our kids more than we probably wanted.  The guys played indoor golf and the girls just sat around and talked.  We are making an effort to get out kid free more and so far have been successful at it.

Last Thursday my mom had a heart cath done. They didn't find anything to stent or repair so that was great! They were hoping to run the cath through her wrist, but after 2 attempts they ended up going through her groin.  She is in a lot of pain/discomfort and is incredibly tired, but doing alright. She isn't use to being the patient.  I have been spending as much time over at her house as I can and have taken her dinner everyday since. I'm worn out, but it's worth it. She would do the same for me. She quit breathing for 2 minutes on the table and her Oxygen level dropped to 60 so it did scare me. She lives alone and if something happens no one would know...what a bad thought!

ANyways, that's all that has been going on at our house. Nothing exciting, but yet Matt and I are both EXHAUSTED! I'm ready for some actual sleep soon and not just a few naps at night between feedings!

Zombie Run

I got a text from Matt yesterday while I was working about the Zombie Run. It is a 5k run in Louisville. He wanted to be a zombie this year, but I thought we should try to run it. It is basically a run where zombies chase you so my thought was, hey, that may make me run faster than just a normal 5k. Plus, Matt and I have been wanting to change some things around here and get back into a non-circular shape so I told him it would be a good incentive plan. He is a little scared we won't have enough time to train with the kids, but I think we'll be ok. The run isn't until the end of April so that gives us a little better than 10 weeks. Wish us luck!

New tooth

Emmy now has a new tooth on the bottom! YAY! That makes 3 on bottom and 4 up top with a ton more coming! While I like getting all of them out at once, it sure is torture on little people.  She's been a drooling fool lately. Thankfully, she is still pleasant and easy going!

Stomach bug from Hell

Not much has been happening around here lately. I'm trying to get back into the routine of being a working momma with 3 kiddos.  It is rough some days to feel like I'm dividing my attention the right way, but my kids are happy and are thriving so I guess that means we're doing an alright job!

Last week, Emmersyn woke up with the stomach bug. Thankfully, I was at work, but Matt said she had throw up all over her crib and then the nasty diarrhea started. YUCK-O! She wasn't her normal eating self, but she did manage to eat some food and drink.

Sat night/Sun morning, Teagan woke me up at 2 am and said her belly hurt. Well, she then proceeds to throw up all down the hall and into my bathroom.

Matt sent me this picture yesterday while I was working. This is how she spent the whole day yesterday and is back at it this morning. She has only had water and a few goldfish crackers. She isn't my eater anyways, but when she isn't feeling well she doesn't eat at all.

I'm hoping this passes soon. My poor Brennen started last night with the runny mess in his diaper too. I'm hoping to keep them all hydrated and out of the the ER.

Progress Report

Teagan got her very first school report yesterday.  I was very excited to actually see what she knew as she doesn't really show/tell us all that she does at school. I know she knows a lot more than she lets on.
The report was 3 pages long. It is divided into 3 categories: physical development, skill development, and social/emotional development.  There are 4 "grading" numbers they use 1-4. 1:area of concern, 2:needs development, 3:age appropriate, and 4:exceeds expectations.  About 98% of Teagan's were 3 and 4's. I was very impressed. It is SO funny that at home she gets in the most trouble for being mean to Emmersyn, but at school she scored mostly 4's in the emotional development and caring for others section. HA
She does need to work on a few "skill" development areas. She got four 2's in that category, but some of it I didn't know she needed to know to work on, such as her street address and phone number.  Another big area of work this month for us at home will be numbers.
Overall, I am very happy with her report. I know there will always be things my kids excel in and there will also be areas they struggle with. I think that is human nature and I'm trying not to stress about it. She is 3 and has TONS of school ahead so I just want her to have fun and be age appropriate at this point. I also like that it shows me where to focus my time at home, too. Not to sound like a bad mom, but I don't want to waste my time teaching her something she already knows! HA.
