Emmersyn is 6mn old!!!

It's hard to believe my little baby is already half a year old! I don't know where the last 6 months went, but it went SO FAST!

At 6 months, Emmersyn can:
*roll all over the house (you mastered the back to belly a while back, but just recently figured out the belly to back roll)
*wear a size 6mn clothes mostly
*wear a size 3 diaper
*have NO teeth yet
*are eating some stage 1 solids...we are still introducing veggies but so far we haven't had any trouble
*eat/drink about 30 oz of formula/day
*take 2- 30 minute and 1-hour/1.5hr nap a day
*are a GREAT sleeper at night! Thank you for that!
*are an easy, mellow baby. still content to play alone, but you also love to have attention
*love to suck your thumb...you usually start putting your fingers in your mouth when you get sleepy, and then fall asleep sucking your thumb and rubbing your blankie on your face (so cute!)
*sleep from 9pm-6:30am then get a bottle and go back to sleep til 8ish (depends when your sister wakes us up really!)

I am so happy you are a part of my family! You have added so much joy and love to our hearts!

The Murray girls go on vacation!

Last week the girls and I packed up and headed north! We left Tuesday morning and came back on Saturday afternoon. Matt stayed home so he could bank a little vacation time for when baby #3 comes out! I think he was more excited about his "vacation" than I was about mine! HAHA. He got to sleep without monitors on, swim without a monkey, watch non cartoons on tv, and just relax without the girls (and me).
The girls were GREAT though. My mom went with us and we stayed at my grandma's house up in Fort Wayne. Teagan and I slept together and Emmersyn slept in the pack n play next to my bed. I'm not use to sleeping in the same room as the kids so I got very little sleep. Every time they moved I would wake up.
We spent a ton of time coloring, swimming, and just hanging out. One afternoon, we went and let Teagan feed the ducks at the park and play while my grandma got a little "rest". It was so HOT but I think Teagan could have stayed on their playground all day. They had some sort of day camp going on next to the park that my mom had went to as a kid so she told Teagan all about it!
And on another afternoon, we headed to Randi's house for a visit. It had been a little bit since we had a chance to visit. I think about a year actually. We had a good visit and Teagan had a blast playing with her other kiddos. Randi even got Teagan a minnie pillow pet and Emmersyn a little butterfly pillowpet!
I love vacations and can't wait til all the kids are a little older so we can go on another BIG trip to Florida!

Father's Day

Today was Matt's first Father's Day as a daddy to 2! Some days I have to pinch myself to really believe Matt and I have 2 girls.
I am blessed to have Matt as my partner for life. To have him as the father of my kids. To have him as my friend. I know our lives are crazy and some days I barely see him, but when push comes to shove I wouldn't trade him for anyone...at least not anyone not on my TV! HA!
He is an excellent dad. He is a great dad to girls. I don't know that every man could be such a good dad to a girl. I know football, baseball, sports in general are a bonding agent for guys, but Matt had to learn about Tinkerbell and fairies, princesses, Minnie bowtique, and look at everything pink and purple in the house. Not only are Teagan and Emmersyn wrapped around his finger, but they ADORE him in return! He colors and draws with Teagan, fixes her hair (he's gotten a LOT better too), is now into gymnastics, can play for hours in the pool with them, and just LOVES his girls to pieces!
I am so glad my girls have a strong father figure in their lives and I'm glad Matt is in my life!

Hard Day

I'm blogging about my day for me. To get it out and hopefully get some peace. It was a very LONG and rough morning/afternoon.
Teagan has been complaining for MONTHS about her knee hurting. The past few weeks it has also been her belly hurting. I chalked it up to her wanting some extra snuggle time because we have a fairly new baby still and another on the way...you know, attention seeking. In the back of my mind I had concerns, but it seems like they only hurt first thing in the morning and by the afternoon, she's ok and even acting like a dog, cat, kangaroo, horse, etc and on all 4s plowing through the house.
This morning she woke up around 8:30 and came into my room crying and could barely walk. She said her knee hurt and was also holding her thigh. I knew it was time to take her to the doctor. Enter the backstory....Randi had cancer while pregnant with Teagan. She had chemo treatments while pregnant with Teagan. Family history of cancer plus the constant pain and bruises and I was certain it was definately luekemia. (overreact much, I know) Insert google...it confirmed what I thought too with the symptoms I mentioned. Add in some pregnancy hormones and postpartum hormones and I was a total wreck most of the morning.
We went to the doctor (keep in mind, Teagan wouldn't even walk down the stairs this morning. I had to carry BOTH her and Emmersyn) and the doctor asked her several questions about "does this hurt", "does that hurt", and bent her legs up and back and all over. Of course Teagan, in typical 3 yr old fashion, says "no" to everything...Thank you Teagan! The dr did notice her limp though and grab her hip when she asked Teagan to run down the hall. A little concerned about that so she sent us to get x-rays on her pelvis, hip, and knee. Everything was taken and sent to the dr office and I no sooner walked in my house (30 minutes later) and the dr called. The x-rays were all clear. There is no muscular/skeletal reason for her knee to hurt. She said to try ibuprofen for a few weeks (could be inflammed) and see if that helps. If it is still hurting, they will do blood work to test for luekemia and blood counts.
I asked about that first thing considering the family history on Teagan, and the dr said she doesn't suspect anything like that and wanted to do some less invasive tests first (non blood drawing). She also said since Teagan is not "sickly" and is thriving, gaining weight, and all around healthy, she doesn't think that is an issue. However, I'd rather air on the safe side and catch things early IF there is anything.
Thanks for bearing with me! Just wanted to get it out so I can later see how crazy I sounded! LOL

SURPRISE VISITOR!

So, after a little family time today, I did something I never do...I went upstairs to spend some mommy time by my self! NEVER happens! I thought I would catch up on my magazines that have been piling up and soak in the tub. It was SO relaxingto just lay and relax...until....
Oh yes, Teagan discovered I was missing and had to come find me! When she noticed I was in the tub, she thought it was a good idea to get naked and join me. No ifs, ands, or butts would keep her out...even my naked butt! HA.
I had to take a picture of the fun! (I tried to crop as much as myself out as I could to give you the full effect)

Not exactly the most relaxing time I've spent in the tub, but probably the most memorable.
Disclaimer***Sorry if you saw too much, I just wanted to document for myself!

What a difference a year makes!

Just wanted to share these pictures of Teagan. It is AMAZING how much she has grown in just a year! Somehow my little toddler has turned into a little girl! WOW

Unexpected Family Time

Today we had some unexpected family time. Matt has been light on work all week so today he sent me a text at around 8 saying he was already done with work. 8am is about midway through his shift. I told him it might be fun to go to the zoo so he left at 11 and we went to the zoo with the girls! I was a beautiful day! Sun shining, but still cool enough not to die of heat stroke walking those hills.

A traditional gorilla pose for Teagan. It's amazing how big she is getting. No longer a baby that's for sure! (ps. she wore her undies again all day without a problem...for her or me!)

This little lady wanted to swing...ok, not really, but she was happy to be out of her stroller! This is her first "swing". Note: She really didn't swing, but did sit in there and held on for dear life!

And, what trip to the zoo would be complete with out a carousel ride at the end?!?! Since Matt NEVER gets to go out with us, I let him take Teagan while I stayed on the sideline with Emmersyn. I LOVE this picture! And I love that Matt was able to enjoy some time with the girls again and a little one on one time with Teagan.

After the zoo, we went to dinner at Cracker Barrell. YUMMY! Afterwards, we shopped in the little store there and found the CUTEST outfit for #3! I do not know what the gender is yet, but I have a gut feeling. We will not be revealing the gender this time either by the way! HAHA

And finally, Teagan was so good today and had only asked a milion times for an ice cream cone today, so on the way home I stopped by McDonald's and got her one! Hey, they're only a dollar there and the perfect size for a 3yr old.

Definately enjoyed the time with the whole family! Much better than the hour a day we usually get!

A little of this...a little of that

My life really is a bit mellow, calm, and pretty predictable right now. We usually do about the same thing most days/weeks and occasionally throw in a few "new" things that really aren't too exciting. I'm not goona lie, I like to plan and have routine, but I also LOVE to plan vacations, trips away, and the occasional night out. Lately, we have been a little preoccupied to do much of the "date" nights and I'm pretty sure a "real" vacation is out of the question since we were surprised with the new baby coming in 2012!
However, all that being said, I wouldn't change my life right now for anything. (Except maybe to add being a lotto winner to my many titles)

Emmersyn is now onto green beans! She LOVES to eat and I'm pretty sure will be a good eater. She is now all about opening her mouth for the spoon! Some days she likes to close her mouth and blow a bit before she swallows...notice that lovely stained bib!

Look who found her toes:

HAHA! I'm sure that's not who you were expecting! We went to the forestry the other night and on the way home Teagan decided she had to take her shoes and socks off. I looked back and saw this. Such a crazy girl! I LOVE her personality. I asked what she was doing and she said "nothing, I'm just blowing on my toes". HA

Randomness

Nothing really going on around here lately. Got the same ole days of working, kids, and TRYING to get my house clean. Matt still wants to put the house up on the market and move into a bigger house before baby #3 comes. I'm not quite as hopeful we can get it done. Our fence and gate need some work, the everyday life of kids and working opposite shifts make it near impossible to keep up on the cleaning, laundry, etc that come with a family of 4. Not to mention, the pure exhaustion that comes from being pregnant anyways.
Emmersyn is now onto green beans as well as carrots. She is doing real well. We are currently only giving her solids once a day (around lunch time) and she seems to be tolerating them really good.
Teagan is still asking for a diaper to go #2 in, but other than that, she's a potty pro now. We have been diaperless (except sleep times and to go #2) for over a week with NO accidents! Such a big girl! Today, she infomed me she wanted to go "on a date with nini" since she was potty trained now. LOL...crazy girl!
Neither of the girls is too into sleep right now either. Emmersyn doesn't nap much during the day and then gets a little fussy around 5pm. Teagan has cut out naps all together for the past few monthes, unless we are in the car and then sometimes she will fall asleep.
And, that's all I have...nothing too exciting! I'm feeling HUGE already though and I'm only 13wks. I'm not even sure if anyone else can even tell I'm preggo yet, but I just FEEL large!  I'm also slightly embarrassed to wear maternity clothes when I take Emmersyn out with me. I have a feeling people probably think I'm just too lazy to lose the baby weight from her because let's face it, who gets preggo when they have a newborn already! HAHA
