Emmersyn Eats!

Emmersyn ate her first solids today! We gave her a little rice cereal with formula and she goobled it up! We then went on to eat some carrots too. She was an eating pro...definately has my genes! She was opening her mouth, grabbing the spoon, and goobling everything up.

*Pictures to come soon!

My little girl is growing up!

My first baby is growing up TOO fast! She is so independent lately...ok, she has always been, but lately she likes to tell me "I can do it by myself momma". Some days she actually calls me "mom" instead of "momma" or "mommy" and I'm not going to lie, it does make me sad! After the years of fertility issues, the adoption process, and everything else, I can't help but think of her as my baby still!
Today, we went to celebrate memorial day with my inlaws and she wore her undies all day, in public, without accidents! In 3 short months, she'll be starting school....where does the time go?

Even though she's getting big, she still LOVES to cuddle with me at night! She likes to grab her elephant, her blankie, and then climbs in my chair as we watch a show before bed. Not gonna lie, it's one of my favorite times of the day!

And this is just because she's so cute! My mother in law got her this outfit last year, but it was too big! This year, it fits just right!

Emmersyn Shea at 5 months

I think I say this every month, but I really can't believe Emmersyn is already 5 months! She is getting so big and I think she knows it too! LOL.
It is also Memorial Day weekend, so we had to throw a little red, white, and blue in the picture this month for her Navy serving daddy!

At 5 months:
~you are sleeping from 8:30pm til about 5:30am, take a bottle and go back to sleep until 8-9 when Teagan wakes you up!
~you eat 6oz of formula every 3-4hrs during the day (total of about 30 oz)
~weigh around 15.5lbs (won't go to the dr until next month though)
~wear a size 3-6 month clothes although we also have some 6 mn/6-9mn sleepers depending on the night
~wear a size 2 diaper although we are probably going to switch to a 3 when we run out of this pack
~do not like a binky much. You love to suck your thumb though and right now are wanting to chew on EVERYTHING!
~we think you are teething. There seems to be a lot more drool coming from you and again, you are chewing on everything! And, your gums seem a bit swollen
~you like to sit up right now, but haven't mastered it on your own yet. The only time you lay is when it's naptime or bedtime
~you are not much of a napper. You only want to nap about 45 minutes at a time and only a few times per day (probably why you sleep so good at night)

Mommy and Daddy LOVE you SO much little lady!

First Swim of 2012

Friday night we had our first Murray Family swim of 2012 and Emmersyn's first swim EVER! I'm not gonna lie, I haven't really been swimsuit shopping for either girl yet, but they still look cute! Teagan is wearing a suit from last year that was slightly big last year and slightly tight this year, and Emmersyn is wearing a suit Teagan was never able to wear. I really think Teagan is part fish. She LOVES water and being in the pool! Luckily, she has a super daddy who is willing to be out there as long as she wants (as long as mommy is home to watch Emmersyn).

My girls in their swim attire! I love their little hats! Teagan really doesn't need one this year since her hair is thick enough that her scalp won't burn, but when I put Emmersyn's hat on her, Teagan HAD to have hers too.

And this is my baby girl in her swimsuit for the VERY FIRST Time! She loves being outside almost as much as Teagan, but the water temp was a little chilly for her so I stayed on the side and Matt took her into the pool for the initial test. I think she'll love the water too as soon as it is warm enough!

Stop warping my kids!

Here is my conversation with Teagan this morning while making breakfast:

ME: Teagan, I love you
T: Daddy already told me that last year
Me: you mean last night? But I love you too!
T: Daddy Loves me more
Me: Oh really?
T: Yes, and I love him the most
M: Well, where's your precious daddy to make your breakfast?
T: He's at working making me money....

Awesome right? I thought so too! LOL. I'm glad Teagan knows how much her daddy loves her though...just wish it wasn't at my expense, but I think every girl needs a strong relationship with their dad. However, I did tell Matt to stop warping my kids! HA

1st peek at #3

We had our first look at baby #3 yesterday. It is looking great the dr said and everything is "normal". Not too sure how you can tell when it is so tiny, but it does make me feel good to see a heartbeat, see the fetal pole, and an actual baby in the sac. The baby's heartbeat was 160. Also, the estimated due date based on size is Dec. 23, 2012 which is 11 days after the due date based on my cycles. I told the dr that the 23rd wouldn't work with my schedule so we'll see. I still know my due date is closer to 12-12-12 though just from knowing when things happened...if you know what I mean! (YUCK, I know)

After the ultrasound, Matt and the girls left and I had my regular doctor appointment.
Everything looks good so far. I have a TON of nausea and heartburn and vomit a few times a day so she wrote me a script for some meds (same as when I was preggo with Emmersyn) and also my blood work showed I'm anemic so she also got an iron pill called in. She said it could be why I"m so exhausted, but also mentioned that it could be from having 2 kids, working, being pregnant again, normal housewife stuff, etc.
I'm glad everything is looking good!

Sprinkle time

This has been a crazy week and an even crazier weekend! Between work, the girls, Matt, and the constant vomiting from being pregnant, I didn't think I would ever get things done for my friends "sprinkle".
For anyone who doesn't know what a sprinkle is, it's basically a baby shower with a different name. It's suppose to be smaller, less fancy, etc, but that didn't happen here. The mom to be had a micro-premie about 3.5years ago so she wanted the whole shabang this time (which I guess is ok). She gave me about 30 people for the guest list and I had about 15 RSVP and she figured on a bout 5 more coming. I had tons of food! Here are pics from my phone which really are NOT that great...
Desserts were cake (of course), cookies, brownies, and iced sugar cookies in blue and silver. The colors for the shower were blue and silver. I rented out a room at IUS because of the number of guests invited and the fact I have a cat and she has a cat allergy.

And the "real" food. Ham and chicken salad on croissants, pasta salad, fruit salad, pretzels, and mints on the tables. It was a 2 o'clock shower so I didn't know what to make really. I wasn't really wanting to do a huge spread, but I think I still have enough food for an army!

The total number of guests that came was 11...yeah, a little off from the 20 we were expecting. And, of those 11, only 8 actually ate. Some only nibbled on a cookie or two so I literally have a TON of food left!

Oh well, my showers and MUST do things are now done for others. I'm going to take a little time and focus on me and my family for a while. I don't get too much "family" time and Matt is actually referring to me as a roommate now so I think I'll be taking a day off here and there to just do nothing but fun things...we'll see if that happens though.

Poor Teagan

My poor sweet baby (ok, really she's a preschooler I guess) got her first major boo boo today! Yes, she is a little sheltered and JUST got hurt at age 3yr2mn. I had gotten home from work and of course she was in unmatching jammies so I went to the basement to get the right jammie shirt from the dryer (side note for my mom of the year award: I washed the clothes 3 days ago and haven't taken them out of the dryer...oh yes, MOM award here I come!). I had gotten her new shirt and also her gym leotard for tomorrow's gymnastics class and I heard a HUGE thud at the stairs. I'm sure you can imagine what happened, but I'll spell it out...Teagan followed me downstairs and I guess she tripped at the 1st step from the landing and fell down at least 4 or 5 stairs. She SCREAMED bloody murder for about 20 minutes. The only thing I thank God is that she didn't make it all the way down because she would have landed head first on the concrete floor.
I think she's ok. She bruised up right away on her legs, knees, arms, and forehead. After cuddling with me for a little bit, she mentioned her nose hurt too. It is swollen, slightly bruised, and has a cut on it too. I'm waiting til tomorrow to post pictures if the bruises/swollen limbs are still there, but by the time she went to bed she was back to her fiesty self!
**I should mention that we have lived at the same house with stairs her whole life and my mom's house has steps as well and we have NEVER had any issues with her falling up or down them. I really have no idea how it happened, but I'm praying she doesn't have black eyes for gymnastics tomorrow or when my mother in law comes over tomorrow night...

Teagan goes comando!

Ok, actually I may have overexaggerated with the title, but Teagan did go out today in undies and NO DIAPER!!! YAY!!!!!

Mother's Day 2012

I had a very relaxing Mother's day. Usually I work on Sundays, but I decided to spend my first mother's day with each of my kiddos off work. I think I owe it to myself to have a few days off with my family each year. (I also planned on taking Father's Day off this year too!)

Matt got up with Emmersyn this morning at 6:30 and let me sleep in. Teagan woke up around 8:30 and went downstairs with Matt too so it was nice to kind of slowly get up and lay in bed and relax a bit in the morning. I've been struggling with throwing up again so it actually made me a bit better to get up on my own schedule then jump to feed a baby. I took a nice LONG shower too before finally heading downstairs. My hubby knows me so well and actually had some Krispy Kreme donuts for me (and him and Teagan too) for breakfast! YUM!

We ended up going to Target and then to Logan's for some lunch later. And then I got another present...a 2 hour nap! It has been a long time since Teagan has napped, but yesterday the whole Murray family took a nap. Perhaps it was the rainy day, but it was so nice to just relax without anything to do. Later that afternoon, we headed to my mom's for a short visit before heading to El Nopal for dinner (another favorite)!

I completely forgot about pictures until we were getting the girls ready for bed. They are both in their jammies and Emmersyn looks half asleep already, but it's the best I could manage! My first (and only) Mother's Day to 2 kids was a great, relaxing day! I am so happy to be blessed by being a mommy! I prayed for years for the chance and God sure did answer!

The Murray Kids

Just wanted to recap the week. With everything going on sometimes I forget the little things

Baby #1 (Teagan):
Teagan has been been doing SO good with the potty training. I joked the other day at work someone needed to start a potty training boot camp for kids because I didn't think she'd ever get it down. The next day, something clicked and she has been accident free for 3 days!!! The only quirk is she has to go poop on "mommy's potty". Hey, whatever works. I MAY have also bribed her with a puppy once she stays out of diapers for good (except nights). Upon further review of that bribe, I have no idea what I was thinking other than I didn't want 3 kids in diapers at once! My mom said something that I think may be true....she said it was easier to train a girl than a puppy because kids can wear diapers at least..hmmmmm

Baby #2 (Emmersyn):
Emmersyn is such an easy baby (knock on wood). She is SO happy and content being laid on the floor, in her swing, being held, or wherever we put her really. Thank God, she is a great sleeper (knock harder on that wood). She drinks her bottle around 8-8:30 and then goes to sleep in her swing until I'm ready for bed and I take her up to her crib when I go to bed around 10ish and she sleeps til 6-7am and then takes a bottle and will go back to sleep until 8:30 or whenever Teagan wakes up! She is a thumb sucker! She isn't into a binky too much which is good and bad I guess. It would be easier to take away a binky in the future than a thumb, but for now, it's ok. Teagan went through a thumb stage too, but always liked her binky til I took it away at 11 months.
Emmersyn is into rolling over now too. She will roll on her side and suck her thumb when she's sleepy, but all other times, when she is laid on her back, she wants to roll to her belly. The past week, she has figured out how to pull her arm out from under her too! However, once she gets to her belly, she gets mad because she doesn't know how to roll from her belly to her back yet, which I hear is easier to do??? Hmmm.

Baby #3:
I am 10 wks and my morning sickness is back....BLAH!!! I don't really remember when it started with Emmersyn, but I do know it never went away! I was actually starting to get somewhat excited that maybe I wouldn't get it this time around, but sure enough IT's BAAAACK!
I also figured out I will be pregnant for 20 out of 22 months! CRAZY!

And, that is all I have of the Murray Family.

Mommy's girls!

Sunday I ended up working a double shift at the store and missed almost the entire day with my girls (and Matt). I went in at 5:45am and didn't get home until 7:20pm. We usually put the girls to bed at 8 so I didn't have that much time with them.
So, I dressed them in matching clothes (Teagan was still in her jammie shorts in this pic) and decided to go out and have fun on Monday! We ended up meeting Matt after he got off work at Chuck E Cheese! We got a pizza for lunch (it was only 1pm) and then let Teagan play for a few hours. Emmersyn napped while we ate, but then was ready to play too! LOL. She rode a few of the "rides" with Teagan and then I just carried her around while we played! It was a fun afternoon.

It's summertime~

Yes, I know it's a little early for summer, but when the temp gets up there and I'm hotter than heck, I'm calling it summertime!
We have been getting the big pool ready to open and Teagan was really wanting to get in water so we filled up her little pool and water table this weekend and let it warm up for a few hours. I had went outside to turn off the pool pump and Teagan decided to jump in the little pool in her clothes! I decided to be a good mom and just take off her shirt and pants and let her have fun in her undies! Mom of the Year, here I come! HAHA

But look how cute and happy! How could you possibly say no to that!

I think she was a little shocked I let her play outside in her undies, but once she got in the water, she didn't care. In fact, she wanted to streak, but daddy said NO WAY!

And this little lady just chilled in her bouncy seat in the shade! She loves to be outside too so I think it'll be only a matter of time before she joins Teagan in the fuN!

The Bug Catchers!

So, last week I let my mom take Teagan out for the afternoon while I cleaned up the house for Emmersyn's baptism and got some errands done. They ended up playing at the park and going to the dollar store...my mom is the last of the big spenders! HA! Mom said Teagan saw a hat and purse and wanted it from the time she saw it. She tried to get Teagan to pick out the pink set, but Teagan wanted blue. (note: this is the ONLY blue in my house...everything else is pink and purple everywhere!)
They also got a hula hoop and a butterfly net which they called a "bugcatcher". Of course, Teagan came home BOUNCING off the walls from an afternoon away with her Nini and dressed Mom in a very fun bugcatching costume!

HAHA! My mom is a nut and of course did whatever Teagan wanted!
Don't you love her lovely hat and attire?!?

And of course, Teagan had to get into the action too! She didn't want Nini to have all the fun! I love my big girl and her imagination. She was using her purse to put all the 'bugs' in after she would catch them. Such a silly girl!

Just for Fun

So, Just for fun I linked up with Kelly's Korner to get some more blog friends! Sorry to both of you who were already reading me!

Just some fun facts about me:
*I'm 31...I know, I'm OLD!
*I'm both a working and a stay at home mom. I work nights and stay home during the day with my girls!
*I have 2 girls and another baby on the way
*I'm infertile...which may surprise you as much as it did me considering I have been and am pregnant
*My oldest girl is adopted and I still talk to her birth mom and actually see her (and I'm not worried about her coming and "stealing" my baby away)
*I would rather eat cake then run. In fact, I'd rather do just about anything than run.
*I'm chubby and actually quite happy too...yes, they can coexist
*I'm pretty sarcastic
*I'm a scheduler/planner...which you wouldn't know right now considering I have a newborn and am 9wks preggo (whoops!)

And that's me!! At least that's me in a very little nutshell!~

Thank Goodness for Moms

So, as I have mentioned before, the thought of having a third kid in the mix has overwhelmed me. Mix in lack of sleep already, potty training Teagan, working opposite shifts and never seeing Matt, and the hormones of being both prenatal and post-natal (is that a term???) and I am a total mess. I woke up crying yesterday and probably never stopped. I slept like crud last night, too. Partly because Emmersyn was up a ton more than normal and then her alarm went off because she likes to wiggle to the corner of the crib, and partly because my heartburn was horrible. I was crying at the idea of never sleeping again. (I know, over dramatic)
So, I did something completely out of character for me...I actually admitted to my momma that I am almost paralyzed with fear. Overwhelmed with finances, babies, time management, potty training, trying to be a good mom, throwing a baby shower for a friend, trying to find a new hous, and every day life stuff like dishes, laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. I feel like a complete failure at most everything right now and needed a little mom advice and support.
God love my mom. She knew what I needed to hear. She talked me off the ledge so to speak. At the end of the day, I know that it is just hormonal changes mixed with pure exhaustion, but man I hate feeling so blue!
Please pray that my hormones will balance out soon. I could use some calm in my life!

Baby #3 Doctor appointmet

It's weird to say baby #3, but sure enough, I'm having a third baby. We went to the doctor for my first prenatal check today (April 30, 2012). I made the appointment for 1:45 so Matt could go if he wanted, or he could keep Teagan home with him if he wanted to stay home. He decided to come so I had planned my day around that accordingly and got up and showered early. Then, when the girls got up, I gave them baths and picked out thier clothes (yes, I'm super OCD about getting cute before we go anywhere), and got everyone ready. Teagan wasn't having the best listening day so I had decided to give her a nap and let her and Matt stay home...wasn't in the mood to deal with her attitude at the dr while I was half naked. She decided she didn't want a nap, but did stay in her bed until matt got home from work (about half an hour).
We headed out and arrived right on time. However, my dr is ALWAYS running behind. I'm ok with it, but Matt was super annoyed. By the time Dr. Norfleet came in, it was over an hour past my appointment time. She kind of chuckled and asked how the condoms were working out for us...Funny!
She also gave me my official due date! Baby #3 is officially due Dec. 12, 2012. (my guess was Dec. 15) She also let me know I would be getting another c-section which is fine by me. I had an easy recovery considering it is a surgery. I am also leaning towards getting "fixed" at that time too. Matt took Teagan out into the waiting area while I got a PAP and then they went for a quick ride to get the car and a slushie while I got blood drawn and made my next appointment for an ultrasound and visit.
