Today, I was banished from the house for the whole morning. Actually, I think I would have been fine to stay, but the girls were banished and since they are little, mommy had to go too! Why banished you may ask....my mother in law offered to come paint the living room and hall for us! YAY! The walls in the downstairs have definately seen better days and with us wanting to sell soon, we looked into hiring a pro to paint. (if you saw my downstairs bathroom I did, you would know why) Even with a "friend" rate, it was still a little pricey for us and honestly, my mother in law does an AWESOME job and best part...she's FREE!
The weather today called for a 40% chance of rain. I had decided to try the zoo if it was nice and maybe chuck e cheese or shopping if it were raining. I'm ok taking both girls out alone and have since Emmersyn was born. Usually, we go to a store with a cart and I load them up and I'm set...no issues! However, with the zoo, I have been terrified to do both all alone. Yesterday, we went to look at carriers so I could put the baby in that and still have the stroller free in case I needed to strap Teagan in and make a quick getaway. HA. After trying on a billion and feeling like I was going to suffocate, I finally found one I liked and tried it out with Emmersyn. You would have thought I was trying to rip her legs off the way she screamed. She HATED it! So, it is now on the shelf at babies R us for the next unsuspecting person! I decided to just do the zoo with one stroller and 2 kids and white knuckle it if I had to.
I'm happy to report, I had the BEST trip to the zoo ever today! I had Emmersyn loaded into the carseat, hooked on the stroller, and Teagan walked. I thought for sure Teagan would have a meltdown sometime about it being her stroller, but she thought she was hot stuff walking like a big kid and was the best thing ever today! She stayed right next to the stroller, held my hand, and stayed with me the ENTIRE trip! We went to the playground so she could play while I fed Emmersyn and was perfect there too. And yes, I used the bench to change both girl's diapers and I really didn't care. I tried to hide Teagan a bit more than Emmersyn, but honestly, I wasn't about to hunt down a bathroom, try to drag a stroller into it, and then try to keep either girl away from nasty things while I changed the other girl...too much work for me! I'm a keep it simple type of girl these days!
And, if tackling the zoo alone with 2 kids wasn't insane enough, we then went to Chuck E Cheese all alone too! And again, PERFECT! I let Teagan play a few games before our pizza came and then once it came, we went to our table and she ate 3 slices of pizza!!! All that walking made her hungry! We stayed at CEC for about 2 hours and we left without a meltdown or tear from any of us! For our reward, we stopped at Gigi's Cupcakes on the way home and Teagan got a sprinkle cupcake!
I wish all my mommy days were this easy! I got to enjoy a full afternoon/day with both girls and my house got painted while I was gone for free! WOW!

Emmersyn is 3 monthes old today!
I can not believe how fast time flies with 2 little ones! I almost can't remember being pregnant anymore or believe Emmersyn was once barely 6 pounds! It is a little sad to think she may be my last baby so I want to hang onto every single day and remember her as a baby as long as I can.
At 3 monthes old,
you wear a size 1 diaper, but I don't think it'll be long before we bump you up.
you wear a size 0-3 or 3 month clothes. I think we also are using some 3-6mn sleepers
you weigh 13 pounds (as of last Thursday's doctor appt)
you are eating 5oz every 4-5hrs
you are sleeping about 6.5-7hrs at night now! And mommy and daddy are so happy about it!
you have bright blue eyes like your mommy and sister, and dark hair like daddy
you started to laugh out loud and coo at people
your not on a strict schedule like we had with Teagan, but you usually stay up about 2 hrs then nap for half hour to an hr and take a longer 2 hr nap about 3pm

You are happy to be left alone too. I can put you on the floor or in your swing and you are happy to just look around.
We love you SO much and can't imagine our life without you, Emmersyn Shea!

week recap in pictures
As you know, we have been dealing with 2 sick girls this week, but that didn't stop someone from wanting pictures!
I was trying to get a picture of Emmersyn and Teagan wanted to be in it too. This is before Emmersyn was sick, but you can definately tell Teagan was sick already! Plus, look at her eyes and how dark the circles are under them. She hadn't slept more than 7 hours in a 3 day period and you can definately tell!

Doctor, Doctor!
We took the girls to the doctor this afternoon. Teagan has had the bug since Saturday night and we were trying to treat it at home with breathing treatments and OTC meds since we assumed it was just a cold. Runny nose, cough, vomiting, a ton of mucus, and a low grade fever. Last night/this morning the cough started to sound a little barky though so I got worried. In addition, Emmersyn woke up yesterday (wed) drenched in snot and slobber. She had a horrible runny nose and a little cough. Honestly, I was more worried about her because she is still so small and doesn't have much she can take before it is full blown sickness!
Emmersyn got weighed and I'm going to count it as her 3 month stat since she is almost 3 monthes (5 days early). She was 13 pounds. They didn't measure her so I will do that on my own in 5 days! It turned out she just has a cold. They said the usual, saline and suction, wait and make sure it doesn't get worse, and if she develops a fever give her tylenol. I absolutely HATE wasting copays to hear "let's wait and see". I mean I'm happy she's ok, but come on....
Teagan weighed 37.2lbs and was 40 inches tall! OMG! 90th percentile on weight and 99th on height! Since we were suppose to come in next Friday for her 3yr well check, we had the doctor do that too! YAY! She is right on track developmentally and socially. Working on potty training, but still a normal 3 year old! Back to her sickness: after listening to her breath, checking ears, throat, etc, the doctor was concerned with what he heard in her chest. She was tested for RSV because after a breathing treatment he still heard what he discribed as a crackling sound. She did NOT have RSV but does have a bacterial infection in her lungs. They gave her 10 days worth of antibiotics and said to continue doing the breathing treatment and to try to keep her away from the baby! Yeah, right!! Teagan is obsessed with 'petting' her sister and kissing her! And I am going to have to call and try a new antibiotic too...she threw up the first dose and refuses to take any more.

weekend recap
This weekend has been incredibly hectic, but we got a ton accomplished!
Of course, Friday we had Teagan's birthday party so we didn't get much done with the house-selling-cleaning-to-do-list. Saturday, I had my mom come pick up Teagan for a few hours so we could clean out the garage. WOW...It was definately a task to get done, especially with Emmersyn, but she was a trooper! By the end of Sat, we had a clean garage, a clean back porch/yard, and also had went to Home Depot to look at carpet and got some putty to patch some spots on the walls. After putting Teagan to bed and getting Emmersyn to sleep Sat, Matt touched up the downstairs bathroom ceiling (where I screwed up painting).
Sunday was Teagan's birthday. We had intended to clean and celebrate at the same time, but that didn't happen. We ended up spending the day having a fun day with Teagan and Emmersyn and I am happy we did. Initally, we drove up to the knobs to go to Hubers petting zoo, but they are closed for the season! Boo. Instead, we drove to Louisville to the mall and hit up the disney store! Teagan picked out some toys and was almost as happy as she was at Disney World! It was so cute to watch! Then, we headed to Gymboree to buy the girls matching Easter dresses! And finished up with Logan's for lunch. The girls both fell asleep on the way home so Matt and I hit up the open house for the house we like and I went in and looked again while he stayed with the girls. After a long nap, we went to the park and played then went to Chillers for slushies and ice cream and got McDonald's drive thru on the way home.
Teagan had a runny nose and some allergy issues I think going on Sun night (she threw up Sat night after getting worked up about the storms). She ended up sleeping with me while Matt slept on the couch. He doesn't want to sleep in her bed. It was definately a long night with her kicking me and then getting up to feed Emmersyn too. I think I got about 3 hrs of interupted sleep.
And this morning, I had my inlaws come pick Teagan up for lunch and playtime. If you know me, you know it's a big deal for ANYONE to drive my kids so both my mom (friday) and my inlaws (today) jumped at the chance for some drive time! They went to Cheddar's then Toys R Us. Matt and I went through closets, got the carpets cleaned (thank you Coit), and started to tackle the basement. I had set up a donation truck from Cedar Lake Lodge to come pick up Tuesday and we have 10 bags of clothes, sheets, blankets, shoes, etc. A TV, a few computer monitors and keyboards, and some other things to donate. I'm not even talking kids clothes either. I told you, we have WAY> TOO> MUCH stuff! I completely gutted most of my clothes I haven't worn and I have a full closet full still.
It was definately a busy weekend and we have so much more to do! I'm both excited and a little sad to move, but didn't really realize how much there was to do to list a house!

oh no!
Oh NO...I'm becoming my mother! Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my mom, but do I want to BE her? No! Somehow since adopting Teagan and giving birth to Emmersyn, my brain has left my body. I can not finish sentences, think of names of objects, and I call my kids by the wrong name. Sometimes I catch myself and other times Matt is nice enough to point it out to me. LOL.
I guess there are worse things I could become.

Happy 3rd Birthday Teagan!!!
I can't believe my little baby is already 3 years old! It is AMAZING how fast the past 3 years have flown by. WOW! It is a little bittersweet to think of Teagan's birth because of the heartbreak I know it caused Randi and the NICU stay, but I am so happy with the way everything has worked out!
Teagan about 5 seconds after being born! The cutest baby ever with such white hair! 5lb10oz and 19 inches at birth! (born at 32wks)
This is Teagan in the NICU...I have never been so scared in my life and haven't been this scared since! There is something about seeing your baby hooked up to so much to make your heart flutter differently!
Teagan's 1st birthday!!! Such a cutie! I think I cry every year just reliving the emotion. At one year, Teagan was 23lb and 30 inches.
Look how big my little girl was at 2! I thought she was fiesty then and she has not stopped! I love each and every second of time with her...although some are a little more challenging than others! At 2 years old, Teagan was 32lbs2oz, and 37inches.
And my birthday girl at age 3! Teagan is approximately 38lbs and 40inches! She is sweet, funny, caring, super smart, and a complete nut! She cracks me up daily with the things she comes up with. She has a HUGE vocabulary and can debate with the best of them. I look forward to what the next year brings! I love you more than anything in the world Teagan Janette!!!

Teagan's birthday party!
It's hard to believe my little girl is ALMOST 3 years old! Her birthday is Sunday, but we decided to have her birthday party tonight so everyone could come! It's a busy weekend around here with March Madness, St. Patty's Day, and normal family activities to try to get all her buddies and family together, but we did it! Chuck E Cheese was invaded by the Murray Family and friends!
Teagan wanted a Minnie party again this year! I absolutely LOVE this cake! It was prettier than it actually tasted, but it was still very good!
I ordered this shirt a few monthes ago! The picture is really blurry so I'm hoping to get some better ones later, but it has a "3" on it with a minnie head and her name across it!
And, of course, Emmersyn had to coordinate with the party too! She had a few fussy moments at the party, but was SO good most of the time! I think she got overly stimulated and wasn't able to nap but was a trooper!
Daddy, Chucky, and the birthday girl! I really HATE how blurry this picture is too (I'm seriously going to get a new camera!!)
And me and my big birthday girl! She was so excited about her crown and medal! She wouldn't take the crown off the entire party!! I wish she was looking at the camera, but right now it's the best picture of the 2 of us!

I always feel like I didn't talk to someone enough, I rushed through something, or didn't rush to something else fast enough, etc. I keep saying I'm never having another party, but yeah right!! But for now, this party was a success because my baby girl had a BLAST! Thank you all who made it possible and love my girl as much as I do!
Gymnastics!
Teagan started a new session of gymnastics this week. It's a 3 year old class so that means no more mommy or daddy in class with her! I was a little leary on how she would do going in by herself. We've been trying to talk to her about what was going to happen and each time she would say "no, you will go in with me and daddy will stay with Emmersyn in the hall". I was pleasantly surprised when she went in with Ms. Kelly all by herself with no tears. She sat next to the girls on the line like she was suppose to and I thought we were golden.
Well, that's where the story goes a little south. Within 15 minutes, Teagan was placed on the mat in "timeout" because she kept running off from the group. She didn't want to follow direction or go through the opstitcle (sp) course and was being quite bad. I was mortified. She is usually better at gymnastics and has always been better than average with the skills. After about 10 more minutes, Kelly had me come into the gym and sit thinking it would help and it did to an extent, but Teagan did NOT want to listen.
I'm hoping this is just a phase and that it is not going to last more than another class. I really don't want to have the "bad" kid in class. And I'm hoping it's not a sign of things to come in school and maybe it'll actually help having her work this out now rather than in preschool before she's labeled for life!
She does look cute in her leotard though so it wasn't a total wash! Please wish me luck with my very independant girl!

March Madness
It's March Madness Time!!! I'm going to be honest though when I say that I haven't watchd much basketball since Teagan has been old enough to occupy the TV with cartoons. I'm actually embarrassed that my kids are dressed in the team they are, but they look so cute I couldn't resist...plus it earns me points with the inlaws since that is where the clothes came from and their team! Teagan had gymnastics this morning and I was wearing my UofL shirt and had the girls dressed in IU clothes. I'm pretty sure anyone paying attention probably thought I was bipolar or something! LOL
my sweet baby girl! She is all smiles now days and I LOVE IT!
Striking a pose and showing off her "future IU cheereader" onesie. Teagan had a cute white skirt that went with the onesie, but it isn't quite warm enough for that yet.

my big girl
I still can't figure out how to do a post and add a picture where I want so I'm uploading pictures and then writing the post! HA. Perhaps one of you can help me sometime figure out how to blog easier!
Teagan LOVES to help me with the dishes! Usually she just likes the bubbles and using things to move the water from one dish to another. She also likes to stir the bubbles around...crazy girl!

I have been back to work now for 2 weeks almost and I'm trying to get back into a new normal for us. Life with 2 little ones with both Matt and I working opposite shifts is hectic to say the least. We are tired, a little cranky, and hardly see each other, but we both know it is worth it in the long run.
And, of course, with a new baby, a toddler, a cat, and going back to work, we decided it was time to buy a new house! HA! We are insane!!! I mean who has time to breath much get their house ready to be put on the market! So, this weekend is Teagan's 3rd birthday and we will be having a birthday party for her friends Friday and then spend most of the weekend cleaning out closets, the basement, etc.
Oh....and I also decided it was time to start my after-baby diet this past Monday. I will be taking Friday off though so I can enjoy some birthday cake (which I hope is awesome--trying out a new lady) and pizza at Chuck E Cheese! LOL

I am thinking my life right now is anything but normal! It is definately a little crazy right now, but hopefully we will be settled into a new house by fall! We already have the house we want to buy in mind and have been preapproved for the loan amount that I'm willingto spend. The only thing we're waiting for is the sell of our current home!
This is the new house we are HOPING will be ours soon! Wish us luck!

A weekend day in my life
So, I have heard people say "thank God it's the weekend" forever, but when you work retail you honestly want to punch those people! (a joke---sort of!) The term weekend has never really applied to me in my adult life. I've worked full time since I was 18. I went to college full time as well, so the majority of my 35-40 hrs came on the weekend and continues to currently. Here is my "new" post Emmersyn weekend:
Went to bed at 10 (which with the time change equaled 11pm).
midnight: Heard Matt bring Emmersyn up to bed and then he came to bed
4am: my alarm goes off--YUCK!
4:03: shower and get ready for work
4:20: make Emmersyn a bottle and feed her
5: put her back in crib and check on Teagan
5:15: eat breakfast of a granola bar and a diet coke-->I'm such a health freak! HA
5:30: go to work
suppose to work 6am-3pm, but actually got there at 5:40 since I was up anyway and didn't stop for my daily McDonald's diet coke
*work 6-3
3pm: grocery shop and plan a few meals for the week. (side note: starting diet tomorrow so it took me a little longer to read labels than my usual trip)
4pm: finally home! Both girls are awake, but happy so I decide to take a short nap
4-4:30: NAP
4:30pm: I feed Emmersyn while Matt and Teagan go outside and play bubbles
5pm: start dinner--yes, I worked 9 hours and STILL have to cook! Don't get me started! HA
5:30pm: eat
6pm: give Teagan a bath and get her dressed in her jammie shirt and undies (potty training round 4million started back today too)
6:45pm: give Emmersyn a bath and put her in swing awhile
7pm: watch Tinkerbell with Teagan while brushing her hair (bribe # 50 for the week already and it's only sunday! YAY me!)
7:45pm: last potty of the night, diaper on, and full jammies for Teagan
8pm: applesauce snack for T
8:30pm: Teagan in bed
8:35pm: feed Emmersyn and get her settled for the night
9pm: Pick up toys, write out bills, and FINALLY get some quiet time for myself
9:30pm: catch up on emails, blogs, facebook, computer stuff in general
10pm: watch some tv and kill an hour
11pm: Feed Emmersyn a "top off" bottle and put her in crib for the night
11:30pm: HOPEFULLY go to bed myself
And that is my life! So, if you are one of those people who say "thank God it's the weekend" please punch yourself for me! LOL.

LOL.
7 year itch
Matt and I will be married SEVEN years this October! WOW! What's even more crazy is that we just celebrated our ELEVEN year anniversary of dating in February! I spent my entire 20s with him...wow! Crazy to think of that, but I have forever left to go!
We began building our house seven years ago too and it was completed and ready to be moved into in October 2005 (2 days before our wedding). I LOVE my house and the memories of being a newly wed, bringing my babies home to it, many nights up with Teagan (and now Emmersyn), our first holidays, etc. It is the perfect house for a new couple, but somehow we have outgrown it now. It makes me a little sad, but let's face it...kids come with a LOT of stuff. Hmmm, I think that should read "grandparents come to visit and leave a LOT OF STUFF" actually, but regardless, we have an overflowing amount of stuff and NO WHERE to put it.
Which leads me to this: We have fallen in love with another house! We were in love with the outside before we ever saw the inside, but last night we loaded the girls up and met the realtor and went on a tour of the inside and OH MY GOD...everything we want and then some! I see a change coming soon and we all know how much I hate change!

a day at the park
The weather has been beautiful the past few days so I bribed Teagan with a trip to the park if she was good until Matt got home from work! Yes, I did say bribe and I'm not ashamed of doing it! Some days I do whatever works to get her to be a good listener and today it was the park! Last year she was scared of going down the big slides, but this year she went flying down them and didn't look back. Another favorite last year (and again this year it appears) is the swing! She went through a phase were she didn't want to swing, but last summer Matt took her alot while I worked and she was fine.

I love this picture of her pure happiness with a simple swing!
It was extremely windy out so we didn't get a chance to stay as long as I had hoped. I didn't want to risk ear infections though since we had just gotten all the bugs out of the house last week. No more sick kiddos for me! We ended up heading to Chick-fil-a instead so Teagan could play some more and I could keep them out of the wind...epecially Emmersyn! She is too tiny still for an ear infection!
And of course, this little girl was there too! She was content in her carseat/stroller at the park and actually slept through the wind whipping all over her! She woke up at CFA but was content to sit and watch everyone! I had 3 groups of people come over and look at her and of course tell me how cute she was....as if they would say anything differently! Another lady told me how alert she was for 2 monthes. She is a pretty content baby and I am SO happy about that.

A day in my new life
Ok, so I've been wanting to do a day in my life post for a while, but thought I should wait til I started back to work at nights so I can look back and remember what it's like (as if I could EVER forget!). Tonight was my first night back at work so I will probably do another post in a few monthes to see if it gets easier/better/different in any way! Here goes:
Went to bed around 11:45 last night
Went to bed around 11:45 last night
- up at 2:45am to the sound of Matt's alarm, then his cell phone alarm. He feeds Emmersyn her bottle before going to work! Bless him!
- 5:45am, feed Emmersyn again and go back to bed around 6:15
- 7:15am: I hear Emmersyn starting to stir so I get up to take my shower before getting her at 7:30. We cuddle in my bed and I watch some of the Apprentice from last night!
- 8:15am: E and I go wake Teagan up and head downstairs
- I change both girls and put on some Disney shows for Teagan to watch while I make breakfast.
- 8:45am: I got Teagan's breakfast and milk and she had a "picnic" (picnic means she eats in the family room) and I feed Emmersyn
- 9:15am: Emmersyn takes a nap in her swing. Teagan has craft time which she loves...today she made a card for Matt with markers and stickers while I checked emails, sent pictures to my mom via email (I do this every monday so she has something to start her week at work to), entered all my online codes (coke, huggies, pampers, etc), and read all the blogs I like
- 10: Snack time for Teagan. Today was cheese puffs (don't judge me please! She loves them and I am not one to fight over food choices). I cook dinner for Matt for tonight while I'm at work. It'll also last for tomorrow since I'm working then too (chili)
- 10:30am-12pm: more playing for both girls> Emmersyn did a little tummy time and played under her catepiller mobile thing. Teagan played with her wagon, minnie chair, rudolph nose, etc. Teagan is quite hyper now days and bounces from one thing to the other quickly and loves to jump on the couch (again, don't judge...we call this exercise! HA)
- 12pm: Lunch time for both girls. Teagan had half of a hotdog and banana, cheese and crackers, (I split the other half of banana and hot dog) and I fed Emmersyn
- 12:45pm: Naptime!!! YAY
- 1: Matt is home and we "nap" while we can
- 1:45: Neither girl is sleeping so we forfeit naptime and take them downstairs
- 2:30pm: I go to work and Matt is home with the girls
- 3-8pm: work
- 8:10pm: I come home to Emmersyn screaming while Matt is holding her (looking oh so happy! LOL) and Teagan running toward me still hyped up!
- 8:11pm: I feed Emmersyn while Teagan gets in her jammies
- 8:30pm: Take Teagan to bed and I rub her back while she tells me about her day. Normally, she would be up for a while singing in her bed and playing while I come downstairs and pick up toys and listen over the monitor, but since she didn't nap, she is out in about 5minutes
- 8:45pm: I put Emmersyn in her swing while I pick up toys and do the dishes. Also, there is a boil water advisory for my neighborhood so I boiled enough water for bottles for tonight and tomorrow and some extra
- 9:30pm: FINALLY sit down and enjoy some ice cream and watch the View and catch up on some more blog entries, and misc stuff
- 11pm: I will feed Emmersyn one last time and take her to her crib and then play angry birds in bed until I know she's asleep and go to bed myself between 11:45 and midnight!
Wow! I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but most days I am completely exhausted. I think Matt got a glimpse into how hard it is tonight being by yourself with both girls. We are lucky they really are good, but some days it is a challenge!

weekend update
Matt and his mom went to the Jimmy Buffet concert last night leaving me home to party with the girls! I took some awesome pictures of our "slumber party" as Teagan called it, but they are on my phone and I am not capable of uploading them right now. They left around 4:30 and had dinner, went to the YUM center, and just had some fun out.
I went back to work today for the first time since Dec 17, 2011 (11wks ago). Emmersyn is now 9wks old and although I would LOVE to stay home longer, I only got paid a third of my pay for 8 wks since I had a c-section...it was time to go back to work! BOO! I only worked 4 hours today to try to ease back into working and honestly, help ease Matt into being in charge of both girls by himself. The next 2 days I will be working 5hrs and then on Saturday, I will go back to 9hrs. Wish us both luck as we start our "new normal". The only difference now (besides the extra kiddo) is that I will be home in time to tuck the girls in EVERY night! YAY! I will be going in earlier, but bedtime is something I missed and wanted to make it more of a priority to be home. Plus, it allows Matt to go to bed by 8:30 regardless of how fussy the girls may be.
Emmersyn started laughing out loud yesterday (3/3/12) and I absolutely love that sound. It is so sweet and just innocent to hear a baby laugh, or for that matter any little kid! I love that my girls are happy most of the time. Teagan heard her and told me a fairy was born when Emmersyn laughed. She has been watching a TON of Tinkerbell lately and that is what they say happens, and of course, Teagan remembers everything!

reflections
Yesterday God reminded us all to stop taking THINGS for granted. I am the worst at feeling sorry for myself and wishing I had all the extra money to buy things my friends have. Last night, I am sure the people in Henryville would much rather have SOME of the things I take for granted...a soft pillow, warm blanket, soap for their shower, even a hair brush.
A tornado, or 2, touched down about 5 miles from my house. While I was in my basement looking at facebook with my girls, families nearby were going through a living hell. One family was the family of some of my friends. Their mom, step dad, and brother lost essentially everything, but they are all still alive.
I am so thankful for my friends who have helped my friends that they don't even know. I know our help is a drop in the bucket of their need, but hopefully it will just be a reminder that there are people willing to help strangers and they are not alone.
